The regret of the tongue

Hello hivians how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day, as for me I'm fine all thanks to his grace and mercies.

Today I will be taking part in an amazing contest organize by @jhymi how in the hive naija community which is this week's weekly prompt edition 56

Introduction

This is actually my first time of taking part in the weekly prompt here in this community and probably my third time I will be publishing an article here in this community also and yet again I hope that I'm welcome.

This week's prompt looks very interesting and coming across it draw my interest deeply, so in my entry I will be sharing with you all if I have gone out in my way to do something in other to impress others.

And lastly I will also be sharing with you all if I have ever said something that I later on wished I could take back, so I promise my entry will be very interesting so just sit back read and relax

I have seen most people always trying to live up to the expectations of others and trying their best to impress others and make them like and admire him or her just for that act.

Mostly in my community I have seen most guys picking up the habit of smoking simply because they want to impress their new friends or a group which they fine their selves in.

While most girls pick up the habit of jumping from one guy to another simply because that's what their friends are doing and in other to be accepted and to feel among they also follow the same footsteps.

All of that the Bible says it's vanity, for I am not a kind of person that strives to impress others or even care about how they feel about me

I have never done anything to impress others, which is to say that if I do my thing that is simply because that is exactly what I intended to do which will only be pleasing to me and careless about how others feel about it.

I'm also a kind of person who instead of following my friends around I would rather make them follow me and instead of trying to impress them, they would be the ones that would strive to impress me.

Have you ever said something you'd wish you could take back the moment you said it

That is why I'd always say this that when anger comes think of the consequences, as most people disregard this fact and when ever they are angry they would say all sorts of things which later on they would regret and wish to take back.

And I'm not saying that I'm any special in this one for many times I've been angry and for that I've said some things that I've regret.

But in the process of anger 🤬 I've tried to always control the things that comes out from my mouth but trust me it's always not easy as it sounds

And to worsen the matter I'm not an apology kind of person which I do not easily apologize that is why I'm always very careful of the things I say as well as my actions.

And when it comes to my actions when I noticed that someone is trying to trigger anger in me the only way I'd always deal with it is by ignoring and avoiding such a person and won't even talk to him or her because it's better to avoid temptation than run towards it.

📝 Have you ever been in a situation where you said something that you instantly wished you could take back the moment you said it, whether or not you eventually apologised for it?
