Are Splinterlands Avatars & Exemplars Proof Of Beauty Or Proof Of Spending?
The realm of Splinterlands is buzzing once again... and this time, the spotlight is on you! The social media challenge is giving players the chance to showcase their creativity, strategy, and passion for the game.
Splinterlands is bringing your pixels to life with AVATARS and EXEMPLARS, a brand-new system that changes how players show up in battles! This is a full glow-up for player identity.
But are the avatars and examplars a proof of beauty or a proof of spending? It looks like you need to buy and spend if you want to look cooler than others! What do you think?
Everyone starts with a solid curated selection, and rarer or premium options can be unlocked through gameplay and future content… because of course fashion should be earned.
Instead of a static profile picture you picked three years ago and forgot about, you’ll create a fully customizable, RPG-style avatar that represents you across the entire Splinterlands ecosystem. Your avatar is you… just cooler, braver, and probably better dressed.
You’ll be able to shape everything from your character’s race and physical features to outfits, accessories, backgrounds, frames, and flashy visual effects.
Swapping stuff like clothes, accessories, backgrounds, frames, and badges is totally free and flexible… change it up whenever the mood hits. But want a whole new race or core look?
That’s a bigger deal. You’ll need a craftable, tradeable consumable… because identity changes shouldn’t feel like a casual wardrobe malfunction. And yes anon… there is a shop as well!
The new Avatar Shop cranks personalization up a notch, serving everything from foundational identity choices to premium cosmetic flexes that quietly, or loudly, and say “yeah, I meant to look this good.”
At launch, you’ll have male and female versions of Humans, Elves, Orcs, and Dwarves… with plenty more races and bloodlines coming over time. Splinterlands just went from “who are you?” to “wow… that’s you.”
The Avatar Shop also kicks off with Winterfest, our first-ever seasonal avatar event…and yes, it’s exactly as festive as you’re imagining. These items are event-only, so if you want your AVATAR rocking holiday drip in July… this is your moment.

There are limited-time Winterfest cosmetics are dropping into Splinterlands, including a gloriously ugly holiday sweater for peak seasonal energy, special Winterfest hats, and a bunch of extra winter-themed outfits and accessories.
Winterfest is just the opening act. Seasonal and event-based customization is now part of the game, meaning your AVATAR will be able to celebrate major moments in Splinterlands instead of looking the same year-round like it’s stuck in a time loop.
So I hit the market and got some festive skins for some of my cards, and spent some glint on winterfest chests! Opened them all, with hope for great things, but the random factor hates me!

AVATARS and EXEMPLARS are built to grow with you…and they show it. Badge slots let you flex your achievements before a single card even hits the board. Let's go anon!
We’re talking land titles, Champion Point milestones, the year you joined Splinterlands, your highest leaderboard rank… even Discord achievements like Card Collector, Land Baron, or Shard Holder. Your AVATAR basically says “I’ve been here” without you having to type it in chat.
To keep things flexible, two new consumables are entering the ecosystem. Capacity Flux lets you reset your EXEMPLAR’s stats and reallocate every spent point… so experimenting is painless and commitment is optional.
Then there’s the Polymorph Potion, which lets you change your AVATAR’s bloodline and core physical traits while keeping all your progress intact… because sometimes you wake up and realize you were always meant to be an Orc.
To be honest, I kept it simple.. with a human avatar. I was orc and undead for so long on World of Warcraft so maybe I was secretly wanted to be part of the Alliance!

Both items are craftable, tradeable, and marketplace-ready… keeping AVATARS and EXEMPLARS adaptable, future-proof, and ready for whatever new content, metas, or fashion choices roll in.
Your identity now evolves almost as fast as the game itself. Look how cool it already looks… even if mine was still basic. I hit the shop and bought an ugly Christmas jumper!
Upgraded my avatar up to level four, added my badges, and made it look more like... myself! PVMihalache The Mystic is ready to battle for glory and rewards!
