Rabbits, Diamonds, and a Painful Nether Experience

It is time to share the update from our Desert Oasis Survival Minecraft server, where last time we ventured out into the endless desert and found some villages. You can find more details about that in this post.
We started a rabbit farm so we can get rabbit hide, leather and books. Soon, we had enough of them to convert that into bookshelves and complete our enchanting setup. We wanted to get Fortune III, so we could mine a lot of diamonds and equip ourselves with good armour before going into the Nether.

Once we got a Fortune III pickaxe, we went into the mines and got more than a stack of diamonds, enough to make all our gear into diamond.

After a few friendly fights, we were ready to go into the Nether. We had a nether_waste biome as our portal spawn, and it didn't take us long to mine some gold and trade with the piglins. It feels a lot safer after getting a couple of fire resistance potions to traverse the Nether. We wanted to find a Fortress quickly.

We didn't find a fortress after looking for a while, but we did find a stronghold. Even though we were not looking for it specifically, we couldn't skip looting it. There is often good loot found in these.

We were being very careful, going slowly and trying to reach the bottom from the top. But things didn't go as planned.

We were ambushed by many brutes at one time, and they killed both of us rather quickly. It didn't help that some of the piglins wore our armour and kept killing us a few more times when we tried to recover our lost items.
Eventually, we made it to the bottom chest, but that wasn't what we were expecting. It didn't contain any netherite upgrade template or netherite ingots. It felt like a huge waste at the end.

It is funny how the Piglins dance and celebrate their little victory after killing the hoglins.

Back in our oasis, the rabbit population is out of control. Once in a while, we mess up while feeding them, and many of them just come out of their little pit. They roam all around the oasis, some ending up in boats. It is also funny that we have boats in a world where there are no water bodies lol.

We searched far and wide for a nether fortress but somehow couldn't find it. I went into all the nether biomes as well and still couldn't locate it. The next time, we will be looking even harder. There is only one direction that we didn't go, and I am assuming that the Nether Fortress will be there.
Let's see how quickly we can find it and gather all the blaze rods to find the end portal and defeat the dragon. The water situation is not allowing us to roam freely in the nether; we have to make smaller journeys or pack a lot of bottles. I might add a mod that makes us stack water bottles so we can pack a lot more and have an easier life here. It will make the survival less annoying.
Thanks for reading.
