Did I make the right decision?

I suppose it all is gonna depend on who you want/wanted to showcase. The exterior shell of you or the real substance within. Because in my opinion, it's preferable to live life as if no one is watching and instead express yourself as if everyone is listening.

Being online, moving around its superhighway and wandering through the internet is like displaying yourself in a public shop window where not everyone is interested in the product on display. And even more so if you belong to and do so within a social network where you don't know anyone and no one knows you. So basically, it all comes down to trust. The trust you place in strangers and the trust you believe they will place in you without knowing you, yet.

Therefore if you ask me whether it's better to remain anonymous on the internet or not, based on my age and experience I would say: Trust is an act of faith that often punishes you, and therefore you cannot trust anyone, not even in yourself.
