Lunas descalzas
Cuando por un lugar en penumbras
vienes en puntitas de pies,
y la luz remata tu figura de plata
y en tu pecho dos lunas descalzas
vierten sus fragancias al aire enrarecido.
En ese lugar que hiende la humedad y la lágrima,
olvidando que fuimos mordidos por desaires,
olvidando la hincada de los dientes del hambre,
Dios nos otorga un rayo de encuentro.
Y tú me miras de cerca y el rubor te delata
ya siento la lejanía de un veneno pasado.
Tu cuasi corola plena eres, destello,
carne sin mal de amor,
lumbre de la montaña.
Hecha estás de un agua que en el fuego
ha prendido mi hoguera.

Barefoot Moons
When, through a place half-shrouded in darkness,
you come tiptoeing,
and the light traces your silver figure,
and on your breast two barefoot moons
pour their fragrances into the stagnant air.
In that place where humidity and tears cut deep,
forgetting that we were wounded by indifference,
forgetting the bite of hunger’s teeth,
God grants us, with a ray, the gift of encounter.
And you look at me from close by, and your blush gives you away.
I can already feel the distance of a poison long past.
You are almost a full corolla, a glimmer,
flesh untouched by the wound of love,
the mountain’s glow.
You are made of water that, in the fire,
has kindled my bonfire.
