Tell us about something you never learned but could do conveniently

Hello everyone,

I honestly believe everyone is born with one hidden gift or the other some people discover theirs early, while some take time to realize it for me i didn’t even know I had a talent for something until I started doing it like it was normal not knowing people actually struggle with it or go to school to learn it.

The thing I never learned but could do conveniently is public speaking and storytelling i don’t mean standing on a big stage with a microphone and shouting o, no. I mean being able to talk to people in a way that grabs their attention, carries them along, and makes them feel like they are inside the story it is something I discovered when I was much younger even before I ever heard of speech writing or communication skills.

Growing up anytime I tell a story or gist in the compound or at family gatherings.everybody would just gather around me.people used to say you sabi yarn well or you get sugar for mouth at first, I thought they were just flattering me but later I realized not everybody could make ordinary talk sound interesting some people have important things to say but don’t know how to say it in a way people will listen.

One of the funniest moments was during a church youth meeting we were asked to come out and share how our week went others were just saying my week was fine and sitting down but when it got to my turn I didn’t even plan anything, I just started talking I described how I missed my bus on Monday and ended up trekking in the rain, I talked about how one old woman gave me a piece of advice that changed how I saw something I was struggling with before I knew it, the whole place was laughing, listening, and even clapping when I finished.

It shocked me people kept saying you should be a motivational speaker, or Go into media or content creation at that moment, I knew I had something
And I didn't go to any school to learn how to speak like that I just enjoy expressing myself i enjoy painting pictures with words and helping people see from my eyes some people pay money to learn public speaking and storytelling, but me, I just do it naturally.

Over time, this skill helped me a lot even in my freelancing journey, especially on Fiverr and when talking to clients, I use this gift to my advantage I don’t use big grammar, but I connect well with people because I know how to express myself in a relatable and human way.

What i have learned from this is not everything must be taught in a classroom sometimes, God just plants something in you that you grow into i may not be the best writer, but give me a topic, and I can talk and break it down with simple words real life stories, and humour.

So yes, public speaking and storytelling is that one thing I never sat down to learn but can do conveniently and i am grateful for it because it has opened many doors for me and built my confidence in many areas of life.

As you said not everyone have the talent to gain people's attention just by speaking and since you are gifted with such talent I hope will continue to use it for good because one day an opportunity will put you on a big stage and am sure you will be able to deliver flawlessly.
