BARCELONA: 16:00 pm

Hoy me toca una experiencia nueva. Estoy nerviosa porque mi camino en el periodismo deportivo hace relativamente poco que ha empezado. Ya tengo confianza en el estadio Johan Cruyff pero no en otros estadios.

Today I am experiencing a new challenge. I do feel nervous because my journey to sports journalist is quite short. I know Johan Cruyff stadium by heart but I nearly never went to other stadiums.

Hoy me desplazo a Lleida. Una ciudad a dos horas en coche de Barcelona y una hora en tren de alta velocidad. Estoy segura que el viaje será emocionante y el paisaje por descubrir me acompañará todo el camino. Al llegar a Sants Estació veo un gran espacio que sería genial para practicar skate. Lo echo de menos. Tendría que volver a hacerlo.

Today I’m going to Lledia. A city two hours away from Barcelona by car and one hour away from Barcelona with the High Speed Train. I know for sure the trip will be exciting and for sure the views will be awesome.
This space would be the perfect place for me to skate. I have to start skating again.

Salimos desde Sants Estació. El destino es Madrid Puerta de Atocha. Espero no dormirme por el camino. Me relaja mucho viajar y estos momentos de calma son oro para mí. Ser madre y trabajar a la vez hace que no tenga muchos momentos así durante la semana así que estoy convencida que me irá genial.
Hablé con Xavi por teléfono y me confirmó la acreditación al partido. Espero poder coincidir con él y poder conversar. Envidio su trabajo. Está muy cerca del fútbol.

The departure is in Sants Estació. The destination is Madrid Puerta de Atocha. I hope I won’t fall asleep and wake up in Madrid. Traveling has a high calming effect on me. Being a mom, working… I don’t have many moments like this that I can switch off from the world. I talked to Xavi and he confirmed my press pass for the game. I wish I will have time to talk to him and have a little chat. I envy his work as he is really close to football.
He leído que habrá fan zone desde las 16:30 así que cuando llegue estoy segura que ya habrá un buen ambiente.

Hoy haré un stand up en el canal de FlepeFutbolFem. Es un partido interesante a nivel informativo ya que el Barça viene de perder el primer partido en casa desde que se inauguró su estadio nuevo. Estamos hablando de 2019. Increíble. El entrenador Pere Romeu está recibiendo muchas críticas por las pocas rotaciones que está haciendo hasta este momento de la temporada. En la última rueda de prensa, en que el Barça perdió 1-2 contra el colista de la Liga F, el ambiente estaba enrarecido. Veremos hoy como va. Pere Romeu ha convocado a muchas jugadoras del filial, dando a entender que Alexia o Aitana no jugarán y podrán descansar.

Estoy apunto de llegar a Lleida, escribiré al llegar a la fan zone.

This afternoon I’ll do a stand up connection with Flepe Futbol Fem channel on Youtube. It is an interesting match from a news point of view. Barça lost his last game against the last team in Liga F. Cuando me bajo del tren en seguida noto un aire frío que me envuelve. Lleida es conocida por la niebla espesa y las bajas temperaturas en invierno. Al llegar a la parada de taxis, me apunto el teléfono de la centralita para llamar a la salida del partido y me vengan a recoger.
Hacemos un trayecto de unos 15 minutos y llegamos al Camp d’Esports del Lleida CF. Que tal y como me había dicho el jefe de prensa está delante de una prisión.

Justo al llegar al acceso de la fan zone llega el autobús del Barça y el del staff técnico. Muchísimos niños y niñas quieren ver a sus jugadoras favoritas.

As soon as I got off the train I feld a spark of cold air hitting my face. This city is known for dense fog and cold temperatures. I got on the taxi and wrote down the phone number so they can pick me up at the end of the match. We drive for about 15 or 20 minutes and we get to Camp d'Esports del Lleida CF. As Xavi told me is in front of a prison.As I turn away I can see a beautiful venue. Old but awesome.

Después de grabar unos vídeos para mis redes sociales logro acceder al estadio y allí conozco a Xavi Casals. Un joven periodista deportivo del Diari Segre. Muy amablemente me hace comprender la importancia del partido. Desde 1998 que no se jugaba ningún partido del femenino en este estadio.

I shoot some videos for my social media and I get acess to the stadium and as I get to the press room I meet with Xavi Casals. A journalist from Diari Segre that gives me all the details of the game and the reason that is so important for the city. Since 1998 there was no woman team that played here. This is the first one in 26 years!

18:00 pm : ESTADIO LLEDIA CF

Encuentro una cabina en la altura de la zona de prensa y aprovecho para hacer una videollamada con mi hija. Le digo que la quiero y que llegaré por la noche.

El estadio se va llenando. Aproximadamente hay unas 8000 personas. Según me ha contado Xavi, se vendieron unas 5000 y luego unas 3000 se repartieron con clubs y escuelas.

I snick into a press cabin at the top of the stadium and I videocall my daughter. I tell her I love her and she shows me some Stitch toy. I tell her I'll be back to sleep at night. The stadium is starting to be crowded. About 8000 supporters. From this 8000, around 5000 thousand tickets have been sold and the rest are free for school clubs.

Aprovecho para hacer una foto de la acreditación para conmemorar este día. El frío va apretando y cada vez tengo las manos más frías. Olvidé los guantes en casa. Que desastre.

19:00h Empieza el partido

Un día que muchas niñas y no tan niñas van a recordar, y un partido que quedará para la historia. Me siento muy afortunada de estar aquí. Envío un whatsapp a mi pareja para decirle simplemente “soy feliz”. Me envía el emoji de un corazón como respuesta.

El partido se desarrolla como era de esperar. El Barça apretando y el AEM Lleida aguantando y plantando cara. Incluso con 2 ocasiones de gol para el equipo local. Pero la diferencia de nivel es grande y finalmente termina el partido con un resultado de 0-6 a favor del Barça.

Today is the day that many girls and woman will remember forever. I feel proud and honored to be here. I feel really emotional about it. I send a whatsapp to my partner to say "I'm happy". I get a heart emoji as an answer. The game develops as everyone predicted. Barça having all the possession and AEM Lleida playing a 5-4-1. The locals nearly scored and are having options! But at the end, the level is so different and Barça is so above all the teams that it finishes with a 0-6 for Barça.

20:45 pm RUEDA DE PRENSA FALLIDA

Pregunto si hay rueda de prensa y nadie sabe nada. Tampoco hay zona mixta. Estoy tan acostumbrada al sistema de prensa del Barça que me sorprende que no haya más organización y más con un partido tan importante como el de hoy.

I ask to all the journalists there if they are aware of a press conference. Nobody knows. The door to access it is blocked. I am so used to Barça's organisation team that I feel weird when something is not as professional.

Finalmente veo un periodista de Catalunya Ràdio y le sigo. Baja al campo y pregunta al entrenador del AEM Lleida. Hay tanta música que no se escucha nada de lo que dice y no podré usar la grabación.

El jefe de prensa del Barça me ve y me saluda y me dice si eso es la zona mixta con cara de pícaro. “Eso parece” - le digo. Nos sonreímos y nos despedimos.

Llamo al taxi y me dice que ande un poco para salir de todo el tráfico y poder recogerme. No creo que esté a tiempo de llegar al tren. Faltan 10 minutos. El taxista también podría dedicarse a las carreras de coches porque milagrosamente llego a la puerta de la estación de tren… ¡cuando faltan 3 minutos!

Arranco a correr para poder pasar el control de seguridad. Me falta el aliento y al llegar al control tiro todas mis cosas a la cinta. Tres segundos después, que se me hacen eternos, las vuelvo a ver y las agarro como puedo. Me leen el QR del billete y llego a la via 1 cuando el tren se está parando para que subamos.

En el tren me he encontrado a Elena, una amiga con la que fuí a Bilbao. Hemos estado hablando y el viaje ha sido muy ameno.
Tengo ganas de llegar a casa, la verdad. Llevo todo el día sin parar y en el estadio he cogido mucho frío. Además no he comido nada desde hace 12 horas, ¡así que estoy hambrienta!

Al bajar del tren nos damos un abrazo. Ella viaja a Londres al día siguiente y también está muy cansada.

My friend Elena was on the train with me! We went to Bilbao together. We've been talking for 1 hour so the time went by too fast. I can't wait to get home. I'm cold and super hungry. I haven't eaten since lunch. When we get off the train we hug. She flies to London tomorrow and she's also super tired.

23:00 pm Barcelona

Cuando llego a casa mi hija está despierta. Tenía tos y se ha despertado. Le doy un fuerte abrazo, me pongo el pijama, le preparo un biberón y la abrazo muy fuerte hasta que se duerme. Ser madre es muy duro pero estos momentos con ella són como un tesoro al que me gustaría poder volver durante toda mi vida. Una vez dormida, le doy un beso y salgo de la habitación sin hacer ruido. Me tumbo en el sofá y duermo toda la noche abrazada a mi perro. El mejor final de todos para un día increíble.

As I get to the living room I can see my daughter is awake. She was coughing and woke up. I hug her with all my heart. I put on my pj, I give her milk and I hug her until she falls asleep. Being a mum is hard but this moments are so precious to me... I'd like to relive them during all my life. Once she's asleep, I kiss her chick and walk out the room quietly. I jump to the sofa with my dog and we fall asleep. The best ending for the best day.
