Hive Engine EVM Tokens Bridge Got Hacked! .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 275
Not sure if this attack was realized by using AI to find loopholes, or it was something else, but unfortunately it did happen... During the day, the EVM bridge for Hive-Engine custodial wallets was breached, and significant funds have been stolen...

If you are in crypto long enough, you have probably heard dozens of times about hacks happened in "bridge service providers"... As these wallets usually hold a lot of tokens, they are a honeypot for potential hackers... On Hive-Engine, these wallets have nothing to do with witnesses, and they are pretty centralized, which may make them an easy prey...
As I wasn't at home the whole day (that's why this report is a bit late), I have no more details about the hack except official announcements from the H-E Discord server...
Regarding BEE and WORKERBEE tokens, these hacks didn't have direct influence, and hopefully, they will not get "additional harm" because of that...
Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...
This week, we have mined 152 BEE tokens in total, 35 tokens more than the week before!! I'm doing this report a bit too late, but this amount of mined tokens is extraordinary! I suppose we were lucky this week (at least with the mining lottery)...
This week, we didn't get new delegators... As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!
This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!
What about the bonus tokens?
This week, I will distribute SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool... One of the tokens from the Splinterlands game, which owners are also closely connected to the Hive-Engine... Not sure what the repercussions will be after this hack, but we will soon find out... For now, the SPS token didn't take any damage...
There will be distributed 270 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!
270 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 10.585%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 12.719%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Well, it's not that ALL tokens are affected, so check out H-E Discord for a more detailed explanation... Hopefully, the damage will stay isolated on tokens that were hit, and not spread to all...

Many cex got hacked, it can happen unfortunately, besides keep improving secutironot much to do... About 200k$ have been stolen from what I've read
Yeah, I saw that too... around/over 200K USD value... With these AI improvements, it's crucial to keep up with all security patches... This year was awful regarding hacks all over the cryptosphere...
It sucks to hear about the hack, but I am glad that they have it under control, and that it was only a part of the funds.

It sucks to lose money, but we saw many hacks this year... I suppose AI works for good, but also for bad actors too... :(

Unfortunately, many people lost their SOL, ETH, and BNB tokens... Hopefully, they will catch hackers and recover at least some part of the funds... Hopefully, this will not become a trend, as it's worrying to see so many hacks this year... Not just on HIVE, but all over the place...

Hard to believe just a few days ago I wrote an article about the difference between Magi and Hive-Engine. I mentioned that its good to have an alternative to Hive-Engine because "things can happen" but that the hive-engine was rock solid for years.
A few days later the hack happens.
The article was here and I can't believe this happened so soon afterwards :(
