Free Coffee! .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 271
When I'm outside and somewhere else than the city I live in and I need to do something, the first thought is to find a "coworking place", or some Internet cafe (if something like that exists in the area), to do my work... And every time I get that thought, I remind myself of my "workplace" during almost every single Sunday, which looks like what you see in the image below... How much do I pay for? Well, it costs me around $3 per hour, and I get a free coffee! 😍

It sounds incredible and unreal, doesn't it? While all that I said is true, let me explain in detail how that's possible... Every Sunday, my wife plays piano in this hotel in Calpe, during breakfast... It is a 4-star hotel (for those outside Europe, 3-star hotels are already good looking, and 4 and 5 take it to another level), and what you see in the photo is the lobby of the hotel... Everyone can enter the lobby, even if you are not the guest of the hotel...
So, every Sunday, I come here to wait for my wife to finish playing and to help her out by taking her piano to the car... I sit at one of these tables, order a coffee (which costs $3... I know, it's a bit expensive for just a coffee), take out my laptop, connect to the local wifi, and finish my everyday morning routine... That's how this place "costs" me only $3 per hour!
You see what I did there? While writing, I was singing along to the song from Monty Python's Life of Brian movie, Always look at the bright side of life... It's easy to complain about the expensive coffee, bad Internet connection, working on Sunday, driving to the job, etc. But the truth is that we should look at the bigger picture, the "small" wins, and take care of ourselves... I read a fantastic self-reflection post by @selfhelp4trolls, where he began it with:

Go and check the post out as it can change your perspective, and make you rethink your future decisions and actions...
I had some hard talks with my closest friends during my Easter holidays... We all have issues and problems in life, and they can be small or big, but when we encounter them, we MAKE them HUGE, many times bigger than they are... It's hard to keep rational thinking during those moments, as much as you try... But, from my personal experience, most of the time it gets better, it's not the "end of the world", but mostly, it's the "beginning of a new chapter."
Let's be honest here, it can get worse, but when that happens, the upside gets even bigger... It's like with the crypto prices... The sharper the dip, the higher the recovery! Bad moments are important as they are those "waking up calls" that kick our ass and put us back on the rails, but on the other railways! With a positive attitude, the result is always much better than the previous state, and the reward is much bigger than the loss!
That's the moment when the $3 coffee becomes a deal, and not an inconvenience... The value is much bigger than the price...
Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...
This week, we have mined 106 BEE tokens in total, 6 tokens MORE than the week before... Some big moves in the price of WORKERBEE happened, so the APR went a bit down...

What about the bonus tokens?

I know that perspective very well... I suppose it's written somewhere in our "geo-gen"! 😃 But, I wouldn't say it's something good... I mean, it can be useful in some very hard times, but not all the time... The sky isn't always dark and grey (except in the Netherlands... 😛)!

I think $3 for a cup of coffee in a 4 star hotel is a good deal. And you get a cool working space, electricity and a local wifi connection - all free. That's killing two, no three birds with one stone.!LOLZ 😅

I think it's a nice way to consider things. It's all about perspective on whether or not things are good or bad. In that way, you don't feel bad about spending that money on coffee because you earned more than you paid for it.

I went through a real “dry spell” a few weeks ago. My thoughts and focus on the less positive aspects only made me dwell on the high price of my “daily coffee.” I couldn’t see the fantastic atmosphere I had because of the coffee I had to pay for. It really is a very productive mental exercise. There’s nothing better than looking at the board of life—which is, in fact, a real game—and instead of crying over the pieces that have already fallen, thinking about making the best of what we still have on the board.
Thank you for the fantastic post, with such a motivational message. Something the “world” really needs these days.

Thank you very much for your kind words! TO be honest, I do these kinds of posts to lift myself, too! It's harsh out there, and as you said, it's very easy to fall into the "trap of negativity" and stay there for too much time...
It's the same as with "checking the price" every day... Until you zoom it out, you are not aware of how much you achieved and accomplished with all that negativity...

It's a good deal and also a sign of "respect" for using their services, same when you need a toilet and you take a coffee and get in there
Well, I do drink my coffee for almost an hour... hahahahaha... As they know me, I got a nice big cup of coffee and a big cup of milk to mix it up... So, it lasts for a nice chunk of time... 😂
And you are right about the rest of your comment... If I use something, I have to respect and show appreciation by spending at least something in their place... I do the same thing on the road trips, when I have to stay at gas stations... 😃
Hmm 3€ coffee seems not very expensive if to compare with prices in good restaurants or cafes in my country. But let's don't forget that it's just for hour and it becomes already not chaep)) Seems like very tricky game)) and coworking owner almost always will win🧐
especially considering if somebody doesn't drink coffee like me😄
But I ready to pay such price for possibility to work with such cool view and good accompaniment for several hours I think.

Oh, you are welcome! I liked it a lot! It's a pity it didn't get more comments, as it deserves appreciation... He is an old Hivian, and he had a hard journey in life, so definitely not easy to get to the state where he is now! Good for him!
And regarding coworking place, or a coffee in a bar, I noticed that coworking places will always cost me too much compared to normal places like bars... The tricky part is to find a decent (for me also a more "private") place to have a drink and work in peace... With this hotel's lobby, I found one... 😃
