Fake It, Until... .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 253

avatar

What you can see in today's thumbnail photo is Altea, a small Spanish town at the Mediterranean Sea... I have lived near this place for over a decade, and you've probably seen many photos with that mountain in the background... But, you didn't see a lot of photos of THIS promenade, as it was renovated just a few years ago (2-3 years, if I didn't miscalculate it)...

WorkerBee Pool 253.jpg
Created on Canva.com, using my photo as a background

How was it before this? Well, it was simpler, a promenade for a walk or run, with a bunch of rocks to prevent the sea from damaging the buildings and the road... It wasn't too "pretty", but it was more "natural"... Today? It is exactly like you can see in this photo... To be honest, I didn't realize that it looked like that until I saw this photo.... It looks like a theater stage... Okay, it was later in the evening, and it was cold, that's why there were no people, but...

Whenever you look around, you see concrete... Walking on it, these small chairs are from concrete, a lot of fancy lights with a blue ring on them (have no idea what that's about... I suppose similar to neon lights under the car... 😃)... Even this grass isn't the real one; it's fake! The whole promenade is "fake"... To add more fakeness to it, even people who walk on the promenade aren't those who were walking before...

The "tourist's profile" of this place has changed a lot in recent years... Those who were owners of restaurants and businesses couldn't afford to live there anymore and sold their premises to big, foreign franchises... How about locals? There are only a few that stayed... Workers and people who lived there had to leave... One because they couldn't afford to pay high rentals, and others, as they got some hefty offers for their homes and they sold them...

I wrote about this in the past... These old towns have changed a lot... Because of the location, they have attracted a lot of money, which has converted them into big resorts/hotels... I remember writing about the fear of converting Europe into a big museum, where nobody lives, and tourists come to see "how our ancestors lived here"... But, it looks like I was wrong... Europe isn't changing into a museum; it changes into a circus, into a theater, where the stage is changing every now and then, and the traditions, values, the history are fading...

Maybe it's just me being grumpy... Or these bloody crypto markets... Or just a migraine that doesn't want to calm down...

What does your town/city/village look like nowadays? Has it changed over the years? Do you like all the changes?

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 105 BEE tokens in total, 11 more than the week before! Enjoy the earnings this week, as they are over the average...

This week, we didn't get new delegators! But we got some new delegations from old members, as usual! Thanks, guys! Appreciate your support!

This POOL doesn't have fees, and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

Love them, or hate them, the LEO token is still alive and kicking... Tbh, I'm not involved in the community side of InLeo, but I do have a stake from before which I haven't sold yet... It looks like that wasn't a bad idea as the price went up from a year or more ago... Because of that, it's a good moment to give away some until they are worth something... Who knows where the price will go?

There will be distributed 20 LEO tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

20 LEO tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 14.423%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 17.347%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

No, they are not lost... You can undelegate the tokens... The only problem is that the undelegation time is a bit long...

They say that when changes start bothering you, you become an old man? 😉

I accept some changes, but the "beautification" and "modernization" of cities, streets, squares, removal of old pre-war buildings (those from the beginning of the 20th century) in order to build some skyscrapers, concreting grass areas and turning parks into parking lots, I just hate it!

Well, let them tell me a hundred times that I'm an old man!

A large city, which has the largest number of inhabitants, as well as a popular tourist destination, is the most endangered category.

Welcome to the Grumpy World, my grumpy friend... 😂

It's ridiculous what happens to some great cities... When I remember back of Lisbon, it's a perfect example... Instead of having a great preserved old city center, they put all the famous shops in it... And that's just one example... it happens in every big historic city, in every country...

Speaking of which, it was ridiculous to see a Starbucks INSIDE the biggest castle in Europe (or it's in the world too), in Prague... Like... C'mon!

Changes happen whether we want them to or not. I remember those photos. But you live there, by the sea. I go somewhere else for that. For now, it's still somewhat natural :)
Ugh... I'm still collecting the next workerbee... 😂 ... this crypto scene is really fucked up.

Well, not anymore... I moved last year... And I do search other places to be by the sea... 😂

Yes, it is... I feel your pain... 😃

Interesting to see how renovations can draw in tourists while also displacing local residents.

I suppose it happens everywhere... Business owners (big hotels, restaurants) are earning more, but paying less to workers who can't afford to live there anymore... It happens over and over again...

I think things have definitely changed, but most things are the same where I live. There are some places that have left, but the major places that I go to haven't changed in a while, outside of them rebuilding the place so its more modern.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/LEO tokens.

I suppose it depends a lot on money coming into the local region/city/town... This example was for a small town which was "discovered" by some wealthy people who converted it into a tourist place... Slowly killing the history of it... :(

I wouldn't mind Europe turning into a museum as a way to reserve its rich history but I think that shouldn't come at the cost of its residents, as they made up the history of Europe too. Many of us like changes when the novelty of it excites us but past a certain stage, change is seen as unnecessary :)
