Can You Multitask? .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 288

I think I have already asked this question in the past, but as it's still bothering me, I'm doing it again... Maybe I will find a solution for my "unitasking" (or is it solotasking? 😃)... I know that it's maybe not a big deal, but it's a very big obstacle that slows me down a lot... Especially recently...

The fact is that women are much better at multitasking than men... We, men, are super-gifted with finding excuses to NOT multitask... One of the most common is that multitasking removes focus from the "main thing"... Another is that multitasking creates average results and can't compete with fully focused work...

Maybe there is some truth in our excuses to be inferior to women in this regard, but it's not a black-and-white situation... Some tasks are (semi)automatic and don't require our full attention, so there is no reason not to do something else at the same time...

My problem isn't just a simple multitasking problem (well, it's that too 😃)... What I realized over the years is that I tend to seek (almost) ideal circumstances for doing my work... Let me explain...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

I have a laptop, but whenever I want to do some work, I go to my workroom, sit on my chair, in front of the desk, and do it there! I bought a laptop to be mobile, but I converted it into a desktop computer with a separate monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. Here comes an excuse...

It's good to have your workspace as when you are there, you focus on work

True... But it works the other way around too... Almost 4 weeks after my surgery, I still have issues with sitting in a chair, which means that most of my time I spend in bed... with my laptop close to me, but not thrilled to work in that position...

It's the same when I go somewhere on a trip... I do take my laptop with me, but not working too much... Only if something is urgent, like some node going down, or some other urgent issue that is time-sensitive... That's why you can notice I create fewer posts and comments on HIVE whenever there is some meetup that I attend...

Do you have your "work rituals"? Can you work while commuting, running, or walking? In the bedroom, living room, or in the park?

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 148 BEE tokens in total, 10 tokens more than a week before!

This week we didn't get new delegators! As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!

This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

Despite having a "bulletproof tokenomics" like the one we created on Liotes, the drawdowns are still possible, as people can do whatever they want with their tokens; they can buy or sell when they want... Of course, in bear markets most people tend to sell their tokens for different reasons... As the LEN token market is relatively low, when some big investor decides to sell a huge chunk of tokens, it moves the price down... Of course, it works the other way too... When someone wants to buy a lot of tokens, it moves the price up too... If we look on the bright side, a low price means MORE tokens distributed to the pool delegators!

There will be 111 LEN tokens distributed to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

111 LEN tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 15.435%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 18.528%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

You can find more about this pool in the initial post here https://ecency.com/hive-119826/@ph1102/workerbee-p-h-ool-let-s-help-each-other.

Thank you for your time.

Since I have a full-time job, when I'm walking, when I'm at home, when I'm on vacation, I try not to work whenever I can.
If I have to, I feel nervous and it doesn't sit well with me.
And when I do work, for those 8 hours I'm in complete focus.
And I know that sometimes I'm juggling several things at once, so I'd say I'm good at multitasking.
I laughed during an HR training on Time Management when the presenters said it takes 10 minutes to get back into the focus you lost if someone interrupts you while you're working.
Well, I get interrupted so many times during the day that I'd just be trying to focus all day long 🙂

I remember the days when I ran a company... I wasn't able to juggle a lot, but rather took notes to be able to come back to tasks later to finish them... 😂

I half forget 🤣

But the other half that I remember and finish is enough, especially at this age (young 🤣)

I’m not exactly sure what that’s supposed to mean.
If it means you can do several things at once within a certain time frame (on the computer)—like writing a post while waiting for images or a video to upload, checking a tweet in the meantime, editing a new photo, listening to music, and when it shows up in Scrobble, I comment on it with #nowplaying, and it’s visible on all short-form content platforms on Hive—then I think that’s multitasking.
I have a workspace with a desktop and an old ThinkPad laptop that I use for mobile editing wherever I am.

How about cooking and writing a post at the same time? 😃

I have a workspace with a desktop and an old ThinkPad laptop that I use for mobile editing wherever I am.

I do have a similar setup, but very uncomfortable when I have to work on the laptop OUTSIDE my "office"... I would like to "fix" that... 🙂

I feel the same way. I also bought a new laptop so I can work anywhere. I think, multitasking is not always good hahaha..

By the way I plan to join in your pool, do you require minimum limit? I don't have enough balance yet.

And did you manage to work "anywhere", or did you fail like me and work only at the same place? 😂

There is no minimum, but if it's really low, maybe you will not receive bonus tokens if the amount is lower than the decimal place value...

Multitasking is just switching from one task to another while losing efficiency in the process. I've become more of a fan of monotasking as much as possible lately :)

hehehehe... I think "monotasking" comes with age... lol... Taking things slower, memory banks don't work as well as they did before... one by one is the way to go... 😃

Multitasking can definitely be challenging, but it’s always impressive to see how people manage different tasks at once. Great round-up from WorkerBee PH-Pool! 😊🐝

I admire people who can do multiple things at the same time...

Same here! It’s impressive how some people can handle different things at once and still get everything done. 😊

I think I can multi-task to an extent, but I am more prone to making mistakes when I do. I prefer to focus on things, but I think it depends on how close that deadline is. The closer it is, the more I focus on it.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/LEN tokens

Same with me, too! When the deadline is close, I get fully in the zone... don't hear or see anything around me... :D

Technically we don't multitask as in doing more than one thing at once. What we to is task-switching, but we do it so fast it seems like we are doing things at the same time. :) Now that my children are grown I have the luxury of occasionally doing just one thing for hours. But when I teach Sunday School I am right back to the "multitasking." I don't know that women are "better" at it, but I do think God gave us that ability because it is what keeps young children alive! Cook dinner while taking the toddler off the top of the bookcase while not tripping over the dog. Then feed the baby while doing math with the older kids. !BBH

Hehehehe... That's a good analogy... I remember when my son was a toddler and when he took his first steps... I always had to keep an eye on him... 24/7... The time didn't stop, and other things had to be done in the meantime...

Good example!

Is Crazy what someone will learn for you when start reading more your post.

I don't have work rituals but you can say I'm workaholic because I like to work instead of sitting and relaxing. About Multitasking I agree about Men.
