AI - Blessing or a Curse for HIVE? .:. March 1st HivePUD
Let's have a short talk about AI... It's a hot topic recently, and I know there is a bit of pushback here on HIVE on one side, but on the other side, we will have to adapt ourselves (and our chain) to it... AI isn't going anywhere, and it's here to stay...
First things first... Even before "AI mania", I was (and I am) consuming content that would share opinions/views of an author... Those posts where you can see how the author thinks about a certain topic, adding value by sharing an opinion, or discussing something with their words... I'm not interested in some scientific posts here, or some "dry story" about some historic place, if there is no "personal touch" by the author... For all that, there are scientific pages, or AI bots that can answer... In the end, HIVE is a social network, and it's hard to socialize with someone who doesn't share their personality... Because of all that, the usage of AI to create a complete post makes no sense, as it will share 0 personal value, and I will probably skip the post...

On the other side, AI can be very useful if it's used as a tool to make us better, to help us to be better understood by others... Also, it is getting better and better with coding, creating apps... Recently, I got a bit demotivated with everything around crypto, searching for "real value" of it, including HIVE... I got deep into the tunnel, and it was getting darker and darker...
Then, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel; interestingly, AI is probably something that put us in the tunnel, but it can also show us the way out of it... I didn't see too many valuable apps deployed on HIVE... Every couple of months, someone would launch some "HIVE tool" that would show some HIVE data differently... Usually, something that already existed, but it was "re-packed" differently...
But, something changed... AI disrupted the software industry... Some "regular" folks could finally dive into development of their ideas, ideas that are opposite to those of "old-school-developers"... Hive got a "fresh blood" of ideas!!! Something that was needed a long time ago! Maybe it's not that visible, yet... But I can see this getting better and better very soon! HIVE is a great blockchain, with great fundamentals, and the missing piece was exactly that... Fresh blood and useful apps! Soon, everyone will be able to launch an app! Sounds scary, but only for those blockchains that have no infrastructure to be built on... Hive isn't one of those! Hive is ready!

Back to the #HivePUD and HivePower accumulation!!!
This was my HivePower BEFORE the PowerUP:

Another 1K Power-UP! 💪

And the final result...

132K HivePower reached!! Next step, 135K!

It looks like the #HivePUM badge isn't operational anymore... As I'm trying to continue my consistency streak doing power-ups every day, for me, it doesn't matter that it doesn't work... At least the calendar part works, and I can see if I did it every day... 😃

To get this badge, you should power up at least 1 HIVE every day of the month OR create a post every day with rewards set to 100% HP... Sounds easy, but it can be tricky... 🙂 (well, badge will maybe arrive one day, as all data is on chain)

So, what is #HivePUD?
Just a short introduction to HivePUD... What does it mean at all? #HivePUD is short for the Hive Power Up Day. It's an event when Hive members power up their liquid HIVE and stop any active PowerDown! It all began with great fellow Hivians @streetstyle and @traciyork, and is held every 1st day of the month.
Check out the official #HivePUD post for March here... Hurry up if you want to participate!
Thank you for your valuable time.

Thanks for your curation! 🙏
Congrats on your 1k powerups! Happy PUD sir 😊
Thanks! Happy HivePUD to you, too! 😃
Congrats on your HPUD!
I use all the tools currently available to me to edit content. Everything is done to make the content as easy to understand as possible for everyone. 😎
AI tools are good for expressing ourselves better, and I can't find anything wrong if it's used like that... I'm doing the same for many things... The idea is still mine, the structure too... 😉
Congratulations @ph1102! You received a personal badge!
See you at the next Power Up day to see if you will repeat this feat.
May the Hive Power be with you!
You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

Some folks still do not want to accept this, unfortunately it's the hard truth.
1k power up is massive, that'll be my power up for a year. 😂!LOLZ
Congratulations and happy #hpud.
Have a fabulous week ahead.
!BBH
Tbh, I can't accept either if someones leave AI to create a whole post for them... But, if you use it to better articulate your work, I wouldn't take that as something wrong... It's like you and I talking about something, and your viewpoint changes mine, which leads to me "stealing" your opinion... :)
Well, it was a very, very slow building up throughout the years... If I can do it, you can do it too... 😃
Have a great week!
Happy HPUD, and nice 1k powerup. AI isn't going anywhere. I think we just have to deal with it. It's nothing more than a tool and I think pure AI stuff won't succeed.
It CAN be more than a tool, and it depends on how people use it... Anyways, it is not going away, and we have to make peace with it, and maybe create some "rules of adoption"...
Many chains talk about utility, but Hive already has on-chain data, rewards logic, and community culture. If AI-powered builders start leveraging that properly, the ecosystem could evolve fast.
Exactly! That's what I meant when I said that we have a good foundation, which other chains don't have! We will see what the future brings...
AI has its advantages and its disadvantages.
Hundred % agree AI can help create digital services in a way that can benefit HIVE.
I hope we are getting some meaningful apps/digital services with such AI support.
An App is easy, the meaningfulness is far from easy.
Loves a recent contribution: Hive Arcade with Tetris and Battleship games!
No idea if AI was used for the programming, but a great contribution to HIVE.
AI and content: Well, whether we like it or not, HIVE will be full of AI-generated content. I wonder what this will do with the blogging side of HIVE. Recently, I noticed on Reddit 'Human/AI' markers at each post and comment (done with GPTzero AI detector). Loved that. Would be great to have in our blogging UIs.
I love it! It was great to see @minigunner taking the lead and showing by example how it is possible to do it, even without any coding knowledge! They are just simple games, but a great showcase of the AI possibilities... Hopefully, others will follow those steps and create more things... Hopefully, including myself... lol... 😃
It is ridiculous to ignore the AI and not adopt it... It's like ignoring BTC in 2009... 😃
Yeah, I kind of agree that it's imminent... I mean, having AI content on HIVE... But, there is a place for all kinds of content, and I'm trying to accept it... If I don't like it, I will not upvote it and continue...
There aren't bad posts (ok, maybe some are), but there is a lot of "bad curation"...
I think PeakD has something like "AI tools used"... Even YT has something similar, but many creators ignore that and don't "mark" their posts as AI-generated, even if they did it...
That is why I like what I saw at Reddit. I thought of this myself already, but most said: We can't be sure whether the detector is correct or not. But WTF. When Reddit does this, we can't be stupid ass and still say: We should not do it. Will make curation human content mucho easier, while not accidentally skipping posts and users because we have to litle time to thoroughly investigate if the content is AI-generated or not.
I signed me up for a 14 days crash course on AI tools and how to build agents and all that, including a 48hrs hackaton. And plan to let my employer pay for it. Will happen in a few months. I know quite a lot about tools around, but more in theory than pratically. I need this course to get myself moving in practice. Lets see what I'll do after giving myself this push. Hopefully I become practical as hell, perhaps even for HIVE.
Simple but these games are SUPER DUPER to attract mass market, the older people. They know these games! And this is a way to onboard other users, then writers. The Arcade is SO IMPORTANT and can do SO MUCH for HIVE. When properly marketed, and engineered, and UX-ed. Needs to be super simple: Play with the account. Play with Google/FB/X account. Move the HIVE account to the background. Add point system other than HIVE, as some form og loyalty system. The HIVE stacking for the new game, the boats one, is not good, nice for HIVE users, but not for none HVE users. Anyway, will get in touch with the guys later in time to discuss these elements. I like for them to first dev their 3rd game.
Hehehee... I like your logic! Let THEM PAY for it! 😃 In the end, your knowledge makes them moneys... I suppose... 😜
I like the boat game, maybe because it was the first... Btw, minigunner knows to listen if ideas are good, so don't hesitate to contact him... 😉 I did that when they launched, and voila, every boat game BURNS part of the reward (HIVE tokens)... I know, I'm obsessed with burning, so I had to give that idea... 😂
Just discovered the auto AI detector GPTzero that I saw working on Reddit, is also working on X.
It seems to be client-side. I have GPTzero installed and active in my browser. Whenever I go to a Reddit page or a X screen, it auto add the Human/AI marker for each post and comment. It doesnt seem to work on hive.blog, ecency.com and peakd.com though. Not sure why.

i wouldn't mind read an AI post as long as it gives me knowledge, for example a new cure for a disease, you never know if life will bring you that gift... or even history posts... in the end like in newspapers you rarely read personal opinions but dry facts, honestly rather read this than a N-th personal post on Rafiki 😂
I disagree with that... Maybe it's not a "personal opinion", but usually it's "supporting the agenda", especially in politics... I would like to see DRY NEWS, without any implication, just facts... leaving it to me to create an opinion on it...
And regarding diseases and cures for some of them, I'm pretty optimistic about that, and I'm sure that some of them will be found in the next year or two! Especially with the speed of AI involving... Hopefully, BigPharma will not gaslight AI... 😂
and regarding the AI content... I found some great "explanation videos" made with AI that were super useful for learning... 💪
Oh yeah, you need to find proper newspapers 😄 need a bit of search
AI is inevitable for tech and tech development, but a lot of companies and protocols that actually focuses on content creation does not want the us of AI and low effort creators on their platform. This means we can use AI rightly and wrongly. YouTube doesn't want it, Twitter doesn't, certainty Hive doesn't want it too.
We can use AI rightly, it's just that a lot of people don't even know how to utilize different AIs
I agree with you about AI and content creation, especially if the "author" gives a prompt, and copies/pastes the answer...
I was more about using AI for creating useful apps for HIVE, but I suppose I didn't explain well in the post... That's something that gives me a lot of hope in HIVE's future as we had a great blockchain, but we need more fresh, revolutionary ideas of WHAT to BUILD on our chain... And AI can help in a way that it can facilitate non-coders to develop and create apps for HIVE!
I saw the influx of new AI-generated (or significantly helped) projects on Hive. It is a breath of fresh air, indeed. New people, new ideas. I, for one, am glad to see them. The more we have, the more the AI will learn to code better for Hive, because it will have more examples of (open source?) code to check.
I didn't even think about that! As it's open source, AI will be able to adopt and implement things even faster! Good point!
I 100% agree. AI is way more powerful when we use it to push the heavy development work. We all have ideas, why not let AI help implement them?
That’s far more exciting than reading another “it’s not about this, it’s about that” post. Not gonna lie, I’m getting a bit tired of that obvious AI writing pattern, especially when it’s too easy to spot 😅
Exactly! It was great to see you taking action and showing by example! Hopefully, I will follow your example and put some of my ideas into action!
I think AI has been very beneficial for me so far. I can ask questions and get immediate questions and have learnt a lot of useful information. And this is especially helpful because as an introvert, because I don't have to approach people. Hehe.
Hehehehe... I can relate... 😃
On the other side, I have no idea why I was "ignoring" AI for such a long time... Anyways, I'm happy I dived into it and hopefully, will embrace it even more!
