My basic strategy is to either reduce magic attacks and use opportunity, snipe, and sneak to take out the back/weaker monsters or use summoners that beef up attacks and use high speed monsters to kill the opponents quickly.

Having meta cards in Splinterlands is a big help like units with double-strike or 2 attack types.

With Berix Snakeye in the fold, any time I can play Dragons, I try to use him with a couple of no-attack monsters for a decent 1-2-3 punch (especially behind Djinn Chwala).

all mages to bypass the shields using water cards so not expected

Basic strategy is tank in front, damage dealers in the back. Also put a zero mana card in the back to tank against sneak attackers.

Whenever possible, use a Tank with a large health along with a Repair monster and at least one Tank Heal monster (preferably two, if I have them).
