12 year long search for 742 million dollar hard drive ends…

Gone for good

12 years ago James Howells threw away a hard drive with 6500 Bitcoin on it. The hard drive got dumped into a landfill and is probably still there.

Howells did his very best to find the hard drive and retrieve the lost BTC. He even tried to sue the City Council for not helping him recover the hard drive from the landfill.

Now after the lawsuit ending, 12 years of searching comes to an end. Without the 6500 BTC, and he lost 12 years of his life in the meantime. Talk about being unlucky!

Be careful where you put your crypto, and especially, try to keep track of your crypto in cold storage on hardware!

Sincerely,

Pele23
