The Reset Weekend

The week was stressful after I got a rejection letter

After my NYSC camp last month, I was posted to a school in Lagos with no accommodation or stipend. Worse, I wasn’t suited for the available subject because of my course of study, so I was rejected.

Painfully, I watched my allowance drift to nothing, and now I’m almost broke.

The weekend came and I wanted to go out and have fun, but studying started on a group chat instead. Out of my love for physics, I immediately started answering the questions. It felt like a stress reliever. Before I knew it, I had drifted off into wonderland around 11 a.m.

The sleep was lovely, until a phone call woke me up.
The rain made the weather perfect, and I enjoyed every bit of that sleep.

"Oh! Bayo! What's up, bro? You are sending jargon to the WhatsApp group!"

As soon as I checked, oh my God, I had been removed.

"Guy! I slept off!" I said. Immediately, I went to take a shower, thinking it would relieve my headache.

In the evening, I went for a stroll down the street and met different people.

Sunday came, and here I was with my friends to glorify God Almighty. There I was able to dance and express myself to my Father spiritually.

The feeling that my burdens had been lifted came in.
I felt free and I forgot about my sorrows.

Weekends are periods when stress is relieved, and I can relate to someone else’s weekend experience where they described it as a stress relief period.

Sometimes we need time to cool our heads from weekly tensions and more. We also need not to worry. We need time to be alone with a clear head. Sometimes we need our dopamine and oxytocin levels to be really high. And that time is the weekend.

Yeah! I can’t believe my weekend is gone just like that.

Just like that... But to be candid, weekends are for relaxation, enjoyment, and many more things. Without weekends, the week feels incomplete.

Thanks for visiting!
