A Year of Starting Small

This year has actually been a stressful one.
Yes, I can say that I am doing better in achieving some of my goals. This year, I had an interest in starting a little poultry farm and I did — in fact, I have started to enjoy its produce. Eggs from the farm, meat from the farm, and now I am thinking of expanding it.
Goals on the road to success cannot be reached without discipline and consistency... I know that's a cliché, right?
I also thought of applying for NYSC and participating in its 21-day activities, of which I did. Additionally, I thought of involving myself in a vegetable farm, of which I did, and now I am expanding it. Fish farming is for next year.
This year I also decided to take the famous JAMB exam; however, I didn't meet the expected score.
There are goals, but not all were achieved. It is quite something that half the year has passed without achieving much. I am not giving up. Neither am I fading.
However, I have learnt a lesson from all these happenings. I should try to fall forward rather than backwards. Fall forward... Even if it is just a small step. Even if it doesn't seem to count. One day it will add up.
I have also learnt that one should not feel bad because others are doing better, but focus on that which you are doing and do it better.

Additionally, do what you love doing so that it doesn't look as if you were forced to. I remember trying to copy my friends in tech, leaving behind what I love — which is teaching, lecturing, etc. — forgetting that tech is not for everyone. Now, I have been able to successfully drop my CV and will begin teaching soon.
So, if I were to go back in time, I used to spend most of my time indoors, but this year, I have decided to change that. I made more friends, even more than I had anticipated. I was once scared of the opposite gender, but now I can comfortably interact with them and take pictures with them.

Look at that — my social life is better!
