I never knew there was an initiative like this to interact with one another, this is cool 😎

At the moment I am reading a book titled Atomic Habits by James Clear; the book was recommended in my church. Though I have not gone far in reading, so far from what I have read, I would say it's an interesting read. The book talks about the power of small habits, which, when practiced consistently, would make a great impact on our lives. At first, when we start doing something, it does seem like there's no change, but if we continue consistently, those small things accumulate into remarkable results over time. And the author gave a lot of relatable examples. I think the book is a must-read for those who want to develop or maintain a healthy habit.

Atomic Habits... It's a good read....

We Nigerians have the habit of acquiring knowledge and doing nothing with it.

I know doctors who decided to marry without respect to blood group... Now all their kids are Sickle cell patients.

We get mouth, we get stuff for head, but na to use am do something be the problem...

What is my point?

Maybe we should all read atomic habits 10 times until we start to do what it says...

PS: if I pick the book, I will likely be reading it for a second time...

Am also guilty of acquiring knowledge and not making use of it, sometimes I also wonder why I take different courses online 😂

About the doctors that got married without the respect of genotype even after knowing the consequences are nothing but wicked and evil. Why would a sane person do that to their innocent child, that's just so sad 😢

Haha 😂 You're definitely not alone—taking online courses can feel productive even when we don’t apply them right away. Sometimes it’s just the love of learning... or maybe FOMO on knowledge 😅

As for those doctors, I completely get your frustration. It’s heartbreaking when people who know the risks still go ahead and bring a child into such suffering. It’s not just a personal choice—it affects an innocent life. And in professions like medicine, where the consequences are crystal clear, it really does feel like an act of carelessness or even cruelty. 💔😞

I will motivate myself to learn a course online because I want to apply for a remote job, then after everything I will just keep the certificate in my google drive without applying for any job 🤦😂

I think reading the book 10 times will not change the fact that what we all need is to put into practice any knowledge we acquire ...because I have seen people brag I have read this and that but if you look at them you will see that their lifestyle aren't reflecting any of the knowledge they have

Just start small...
It’s like what my priest once told me ...
Instead of trying to finish 5 chapters of scripture a day, which I know I can’t keep up with consistently,
I should focus on just one chapter and be consistent with it

Actually. I blame the society that has made every one want to go into that profession too though. These days almost every child grows up with the mentality of wanting to be a doctor. Not to save lives but to make money.

One of my lecturers once said that being a doctor is a calling, not just a profession.
But we Nigerians tend to attach money to everything we do...

Imagine what a whole professional did ...ask him now ,what was your reason for this wickedness, he will open mouth waaaa to call it love

It’s not funny but the way you said it is.
As you have rightly said, we Nigerians have a lot of knowledge but we don’t put them into good use and that’s really sad and a great reason why we are still a developing country.

I’m very much in that category and I hope to keep doing better.

I.have heard about this book..I think someone reviewed on hive and I love to be reminded about the simple habits that matters
It takes consistent effort and before we know it, we begin to see results and impacts in our lives

A lot of persons have reviewed that book on hive. One person who I suspect was the one you saw will be Jay’s.

For me, I feel it's a general virus 😄
It is easy to gather resources to learn but now creating the time to kick start or utilizing what one has learnt would be one the issue. Probably the economic factor plays a vital role too

The only reason I read here in school is because I have accountability partners who read consistently. If you're struggling with consistency in anything,like reading,you need to get yourself an accountability friend who loves reading. That way, they can motivate you. But above all, you must also be intentional if not it's just you trying to play more

Atomic Habits is a great book from the so many reviews I have read on it. Like this I’m even planning to borrow @olujay’s own. 🧎‍♀️

It will be nice to read it too after all these many reviews and see the so much that is in it for me. 🤲
