My 2025 book recap

Time works differently with me, it seems. It’s the first day of the year 2026 and although I should have done this some days back but you know what they say: Better late than never. I took some time to check my reading statistic for the entire year and although it isn’t close to my best at all — I am super proud of myself. I read almost 30 books last year, beating my aim of 20 books because life has been so relentless to little me lately.

My year ended with me reading Brimstone. You would not believe the realization I had three days ago. The quicksilver book and the series its part of, I thought it had three books down and it was the fourth one that was going to get released this year. To my horror: Brimstone was and is the second book. How did I not know that? I was considering dropping Brimstone, which is still in consideration by the way, because I like reading a series when it’s done. All that waiting is not for me. I have only ever been dedicated to the Blood and Ash series.

Last year was lovely in the sense that I read the Flesh and Fire series, I finally read the Shatter me series after years of delaying it and I read some other stand-alones here and there. It was a good year concerning my literacy life and a horrible one regarding my artist life. I hope I do better in that this year.

My first book ever in 2025 was Percy Jackson. I didn’t finish the series but it was a great read and then the next was the Book of Azrael which is part of the book series: Gods and Monsters. I couldn’t begin the year without talking about my reading achievement in 2025. It would be…wicked of me.

Let’s not forget: I also started writing professionally. Well, for platforms. I mentioned it some time during our book club meeting, so I’m sorry if you’re unaware about it. I started two books, ended one and the other is still in works. One of the largest feats I’ve ever accomplished since I started writing. The first book I wrote and actually started publishing when I was little never got finished, sigh.

My best read for 2025 was the Flesh and Fire series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. God bless that woman for creating such a beauty. That book had me feeling like I was in a loop after finishing it. The world got weird, everything uninteresting.

And that’s that, for my recap of 2025;)

Happy New Year everyone. It’s the first day of the month and year, a hive power up day. Just going to throw in a power up today.
