Unplug One Social Media App
Technological advancement has brought a lot of new things in the world. Ranging from communication, entertainment, and even weapon manufacturing, technology has given us a very huge hope of making the future look better.
Social media is a very interesting place to be in. Being one of the gifts of technology, it has proven to be a vital tool for a variety of things, not excluding advertisements, communication, entertainment and even political campaigns.
The impact of social media on politics is really huge, to the extent of being a place where elections are carried out, people win prizes and have their lives changed through their payments from social media.
Though personally, I see one problem with these social media platforms and that problem is centralization. The fact that individual chats are not very private is a problem. Also, people can have their account blocked or suspended for no concrete reason.
Nonetheless, irrespective of a few disadvantages of social media, it also has quite a lot of advantages to it. However, not all social media are really interesting to be in. In this post, I would be sharing my response to Hive Learners Prompt, Banned For Life. In this prompt response, I would write on the social media platform that I would ban for life is I had the power to do so. Also, I would share my reasons for banning the social media platform.
In the world we live in today, there are different social media platforms. We have wechat, imo chat, linkedin, instagram, facebook, X, threads, whatsapp e.t.c. However, the most popular of them all is facebook, instagram, and whatsapp.
I'm not really a fan of social media as I don't spend a lot of time in socials, however I have accounts in a few of these social media platforms. I don't really have a favorite though.
If I were to ban a social media platform, I think it would be snapchat. Snapchat is a very interesting social platforms. When snapchat came out newly, I thought it was another camera application because people used it mostly to take pictures.
I hopped into the app, and I too was using it for pictures alone, until i saw the chatting aspect of it. Honestly, its really nice to chat there, but then, snapchat can be somewhat deceitful. Not the chats per se, but the pictures.
Have you ever fallen in love with somebody's picture, only for you to see them in real life and be disappointed? Welp, it happens a lot in snapchat. It happens in instagram and other platforms too, but I first witnessed it in snapchat.
Snapchat is an interesting place to be in, but then, the too many filters make it difficult to actually know how a person looks like in real life. Many people like to use snapchat filter to make themselves look somehow better than what they look like in real life.
I once met someone that is really good looking on snapchat, but when I saw that person in real life, it was a different story. This is the major reason why I would ban snapchat if I had the power to do so.

You're absolutely right, snapchat can be deceiving especially the picture aspect. People especially the ladies love using snapchat filter to look more beautiful, that's why if a girl is chatting with a guy and the guy ask for the girl picture and she showed him her snapchat filter picture, the guy will say he want the original picture of the girl or they should do video call because they already know that it's a filter. Snapchat is very deceitful.

This is so true, a lot of this people make use of filters and when you see them in person... They are directly opposite to what you've seen on snap. It's all about creating fake impressions, you now find it hard to tell which is real and which is not, today they are black and tomorrow they are light in complexion.

Truth be told, all the fake impression is not really nice. It brings about disappointment which is also not nice. Its better to present real pictures and let the other person decide if they want you or not

Snap chat is something that I would avoid a lot... it is a good place for scammers!! worst than any other!!!
The rate of scammers in snap chat is high. Its difficult to know who is real and who is not
