A Much Needed Change
In terms of technology, our world is getting better every day. With each new day comes an interesting innovation that aims to make things easier and faster for us. However, with all these advancement, we still have trailer loads of problems to deal with.
The innovation of a new state of matter by Microsoft is actually a good thing, but then, irrespective of the speed we are traveling at towards advancement, it is very obvious that we still have problems we need to deal with. Problems like the pollution caused by some of these innovations. I guess its a trivial matter given that we really want to advance.
Though we have good things in our world today to ensure good life for people, it seems like the people are not getting the good life they deserve. Instead of Nations to put resources together to combat chronic life threatening microbes, they decide to put trillions of Dollars into fighting each other.
Violence is the order of the day, not just within diverse countries, but also within normal citizens. Being weak gets you used. A person's kindness is seen as a tool to explore and exploit that person. I was on duty a few days ago when my senior colleagues scammed a patient of their money. I couldn't control my rage at that time. I felt like punching them on their face but then, i could not do anything unless i plan on being constantly picked on. I actually made a post about it. Irrespective of how thought things are, politicians are still constantly trying to reap the people off of their hard earned money. Instead of using the people's taxes to develop the country, they rather fill their stomach and save money for their generations to come.
When contextualizing change, I think we all need to change. From big, to small. fat to slim, rich to poor, me to you, we all need to change. Though we are constantly breaking through, scientifically, one major thing i think we need to change is ourselves.
Think about it. We are our own problems. There is an adage in my area that says, "Na man dey kill man," meaning, "its your fellow human that will hinder your progress. they will do anything humanly and spiritually possible to seek your downfall." From the look of things, its actually true.
Most of us are very scared of visiting our diverse villages or sharing our progress with friends and extended family (sometimes, even biological siblings) because we fear that they will either seek our downfall through physical means or spiritual means.
If i have the opportunity to change something in the world today, I would change the mindset of people. I would love to eradicate the negativities held within the heart of men. I will change it to being loving and peaceful, thus bringing about true peace and progress in the world we live in today.
