..." It's one thing to make policy in our country, it's another thing for it to be adopted and enforced "

Good policies as always, FG has made the policy as usual, but the National Policy makers will not come down to different communities in which these schools are sited to ensure that these policies are well implemented. So what are the modalities put in place to checkmate its implementation ?

Well, let's see how it rolls .

I know someone will say that it's the role of teachers to ensure that the policy is well implemented.

🖊️ Talking about the role of teachers in implementing this "PARTICULAR" policy.
If we check very well, you will agree with me that , the load of this "Particular" policy falls more on the private sectors ( schools ).
Let's use the ratio of 60:40 ( private and public respectively )

Now we know that in most of our private schools especially in this part of the world, that the staff members have little or no say, when it comes to the school policy. If a private school decide to change , customize and sell any of their text, the teacher to some extent has little or no say here.

For the public schools, the government may hear you but it might take time, so it takes continuous constructive shouting.

🖊️ Base on the above, and in as much as the teachers have little part to play here in this particular policy. I feel it still falls back to the government ( National Ministry of Education / The policy makers) to come up with their action plans, put the necessary HUMAM AND MATERIAL RESOURCES in place to ensure the policy is well implemented. And also ensure that the human resources carry out a routine inspection on these institution to ensure that they implement the policy.

Then pass the same information to different states and from the state to different L.G.A's and all education bodies at the different levels ensure that the policy is being followed.

If not, I bet, in the next five years, schools will still be changing their text and the policy will only exist in pages of paper.

I think my guest on the last edition of education matter 2025, made mention of this particular policy. Link to the show.

And I am concerned because aside from the financial implications of that frequent textbook "swap" for the parents.

That action also have way of hindering the academic performance of a learner.

I am very happy with that policy, but the implementation , hmmm
