One thing that can really disturb and make someone uncomfortable is a sore throat. No matter how good you are as a singer, a sore throat can crack or spoil the voice.

I remember my neighbor who was a very good singer with a melodious voice. After a ministration one evening in church, she complained that she felt a scratch in her throat, and at first we thought it was just the normal dryness of the throat.

But it persisted the following morning and I told her that it was a sore throat. So her mum boiled hot water with ginger inside and gave her to drink, she also added salt to warm water and asked her to gargle. After two days the pain was relieved and her voice came back to normal.
