In a country where the ballot box can get into any interior part of the village during elections, and after the elections, no form of civilization will reach such villages.
A country where money is awarded for road construction, and within a year, the money grows wings and flies, while the road remains uncompleted, leaving the users to suffer.
A country where students are expected to sit in a leaking classroom to write exams, and they all sit on the floor, while the children of those who are in custody of the public funds are schooling abroad.
A country where the qualified are not given the contract or job, just because they have no one at the top, but the unqualified are offered the opportunity without stress, simply because they have someone who can speak for them.
A country where teachers are owed or paid peanuts, while politicians are never owed, even with the huge amounts they go home with every month.
This is the kind of country some of us find ourselves in, a country with so much corruption, but we still pray and hope for the best someday.
