speed wins 3.jpg

Hello everyone and thank you for the new people following me! 😊 I'll do my best to diversify my posts so that's it's not all splinterlands related anymore, but, as it has become a part of my life there will be still a lot of them because I enjoy making them and I enjoy playing this great game.

Today I will be making another post for this weeks Social Media Challenge, and we know the drill by now, which is great because it gives the authors some freedom what to make the post about.

πŸ”₯ Share Your Most Remarkable Splinterlands Moments: Do you possess a battle of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all? We want it all, and we want it to be nothing short of AMAZING!

Most weeks it's not hard to think of something amazing that happened in my Splinter-life in the last week, and yesterday I still wasn't sure what my new post would be about but then I was fighting my ranked battles on my main account this morning and had a great one, worth to mention!
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, check out the Splinterlands post here.

This is the battle I had this morning, a fresh one, fought only three hours ago and while this season I play in Modern only for the first time hasn't been easy - my win rate is just below 50% it was still fun and the rewards are very nice, I'm up to a total of about 80k glint now and I'm earning somewhere between 3.5 and 5.5 glint every win, in fact, I just made it into Diamond 3!
Most of my summoners are max level now but I am far from a complete max deck, so the fully maxed out teams are wrecking me, especially Lux Vega teams, for some reason these teams comes in waves, kicking me down again.

This battle is a mid tier mana battle of 28 in the Modern League with the combined ruleset combination of Equalizer / Keep your distance / Explosive with only the Water splinter locked out, the most obvious choice here is to go big on magic because it can attack from the first position and bypasses armor and do maximum blast damage as well, so my idea was to focus on speed and evasiveness using the speed management abilities combined with the phase ability, hopefully my opponent just does the most obvious thing 😁

First look at the battlefield:

Yes he does, very nice! This is going to be a fun one unless the RNG god is hating me today...

My Line-Up:

  • Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the dragons.
  • First position: Void Dragon - reason: Void, Phase, Fast and Flying.
  • Second position: Pelacor Conjurer - reason: Fast, Phase, will reflect magic blast damage.
  • Third position: Naga Assassin - reason: Speed management.
  • Fourth position: Spirit Hoarder - reason: The Blind ability and to heal Pelacor Conjurer if an attack hits.
  • Fifth position: Venari Crystalsmith - reason: Heal Void Dragon.
  • Sixth position: Supply Runner - reason: Speed management.

So, as I said, my team is entirely built around speed and dodging the incoming attacks, and when it DOES hit, my nr. 2 will reflect some damage back while both nr. 1 and nr. 2 will be healed again. My back line is there for a support reason as well as doing damage.

The Battle:

Round 1: The drawback of the Earth magic team is the lack of speed, it prevents you from landing attacks but you're also last to fire in a round, the only fast card on the other team was the Regal Peryton, and it was killed before it could attack. 5 monsters left on the other team, and 5 misses!
The reflection shield was a good idea though, it's a new card and I didn't even think of this.

Round 2: Another one died, four monsters left, and four monsters missed.. this must have been a frustrating battle to watch for my opponent... πŸ˜‚

Round 3: Oh my! Satha Toledo managed to land an attack, it did only one damage and will be healed in the next round. Not much happened this round, except for the Goblin Psychic getting a lot of blast damage, the double heal on the max level Biljka slows things a bit down.

image.png

Round 4: Only one monster is able to fire now, and my heal and triage will just heal it IF the attack lands, the only thing now is killing the self healing 'tank'.

image.png

Round 5: And that didn't took long, the Crystalsmith made the kill shot.

I'm having a win streak even, it's not all bad, it's just that higher players kicks my ass a lot of times. 😏
Over 5 SPS and 435 glint is a pretty nice reward for me! πŸ˜ƒ

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

That's it for today, since the second challenge for this weeks isn't out yet, but this will be about reviewing one of the new reward cards, and I already know which one it will be, the Surly Drunk! Who isn't as useless as I thought it would be at all. 😊
