Splinterlands: Commander Slade - The Blood Moon Berserker

Hey Splinterlands fans and players, welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! These are exciting times for sure as a Battle Mage because the new Conclave Arcana reward set and new reward system has just been released, that's something we don't get every day!
It's awesome with so many new cards, rewards and ways to earn so this deserves its own post and I bet this weeks Community Engagement Challenge will be about covering this topic, so... more on that later this week!
Today it's time to make a post to participate in this weeks Social Media Challenge, which is the same as last weeks:
🔥 Share Your Most Remarkable Splinterlands Moments: Do you possess a battle of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all? Have you crafted something extraordinary within the Splinterlands realm? Maybe you've got profound thoughts, insights, or strategies related to stats, cards, abilities, or gameplay that are waiting to be shared? We want it all, and we want it to be nothing short of AMAZING!

There’s no shortage of exciting moments in the world of Praetoria, new cards, new rewards, new rule sets... and now we're getting close to Halloween we have a themed rule set for the first time - Hallows Fall!

Yes, you're right in thinking EVERY card with the Bloodlust ability is pretty crazy and I had a very nice idea I wanted to test out since I already love the synergy between an Archon and a Monster from the Rebellion reward set having devastating attacks, image this including Bloodlust so it gets stronger and stronger - with it's Piercing ability he's virtually unstoppable... yes... I'm talking about Commander Slade, led by Elias Max Pruitt!
Before I go and share the battle, let's take a closer look at the Bloodlust ability for the newer players in our awesome community:

So, in case you don't know you can look up information about every ability or ruleset on the Splinterlands support page, Bloodlust has it's own page, explaining everything in detail so I'm not going to copy that, it's there and I can't explain it better than the game makers 🙂
The Blood Moon ruleset however gives EVERYONE the Bloodlust ability, so how to best deal with that?
- Don't play any monsters with very low Health Points for easy kills giving your opponent an advantage.
- The Taunt ability can work in your favor so your opponent can't get those fast kills right at the start.
- Playing monsters with the Opportunity ability can help, targeting the small monsters IF your opponent plays any.
- The Dispel ability resets the Bloodlust.

Sharing a battle
Except for all the crazy new updates this week, this battle was the most exciting for me this week so I saved it to share in one of my posts, so here we are. 🙂

First look at the battlefield:

Wow, that's a nice deck, THREE black foils! I love the Tidal Tsunamist, it's a lot better than my level 5 lol. The enemy Slade can cause some problems because it's faster and is likely to dodge my attacks, both of our Tidal Tsunamists have repair and are hidden but my Slade has the Piercing ability so it will shred right trough that while any armor stops ranged and melee attacks from my opponent, the magic attacker in the back can also cause some problems, let's see how this goes!
By the way, the way how the arena now looks with all the animations is awesome, well done Splinterlands team I love it!
My Line-Up:
- Archon: Elias Max Pruitt - reason: Awesome synergy with Slade.
- First position: Silverblade Fighter - reason: To protect Slade's armor while it gives Reach to him with the Flank ability.
- Second position: Commander Slade - reason: High damage, striking two times with the help of Elias' tactics.
- Third position: Tidal Tsunamist - reason: Good damage sneaker with Repair.
- Fourth position: Shock Trooper - reason: High damage magic attacker (with a drawback).
The Battle:

Round 1: That was a nice opening, also not the best idea to put a relatively weak unit in the first position, first blood on the first move in the battle, giving Slade a Bloodlust boost in it's attack - +1 to both strikes and it's making him faster.

Round 2: Well this is crazy, my main problem is killed really fast, I expected my idea to work well but this is awesome. 😄

Round 3: Tidal Tsunamist makes the final kill and it's already over in Round 3! Slade ends the battle with a whopping 21 damage in two strikes!

That's it for this post! With the new reward system, it feels a waste of energy to play past the 15 wins, earning entries for the Fortune Draw so I'm playing an alt account as well just for fun with only level 1 cards 😊

The Dispel ability resets the Bloodlust.
I did not know this, that makes dispel very potent in certain situations. I think I might need to bring someone with that ability into brawls.
Also those stats on Slade are AMAZING
Yeah I used to counter Quora with Dispel 😀
Yeah that'd hit her hard. Dang. This is why reading splinterlands blogs is so important!
