Some questions about wishes and seasons sound simple at first, but they often lead us back to what truly matters in everyday life.

1️⃣ If a genie could grant me one wish

If I could be granted only one wish, it would be health—for my daughter and my family.

Because everything else in life comes after that. Without health, nothing else has real meaning.

But if I could gently extend that wish into reality, I would also wish for a bit more stability in daily life.

In Cuba, where I live, life has become increasingly difficult due to rising prices and constant economic pressure.

Basic food items are extremely expensive.

To give a simple example, I recently bought one kilogram of flour for 1000 pesos. To put this into perspective, a monthly professional salary is around 6000 to 7000 pesos. That means a single basic ingredient can represent a very large part of an entire month’s income.

I remember a very simple moment.

My daughter came to visit me, and I wanted to prepare something homemade for her—a simple sponge cake.

I had everything ready.

Si pudiera pedir un solo deseo, sería la salud—para mi hija y para mi familia.

Pero si pudiera extender un poco ese deseo hacia la realidad, también pediría un poco más de estabilidad en la vida diaria.

En Cuba, donde vivo, la vida se ha vuelto cada vez más difícil debido al aumento de los precios y la presión económica constante.

Los alimentos básicos son extremadamente caros.

Para poner un ejemplo sencillo, recientemente compré un kilogramo de harina por 1000 pesos. Para ponerlo en perspectiva, el salario mensual de un profesional ronda entre 6000 y 7000 pesos. Es decir, un solo ingrediente básico puede representar una gran parte de un salario completo.

Recuerdo un momento muy simple.
