What Fairy Tales Taught Me… and What Life Eventually Explained

Hello dear @ladiesofhive community
1️⃣ As a child, what was my favorite fairy tale and how much did I believe in it?
When I was little, one of the fairy tales I loved the most was Cinderella.
Like many children, I was fascinated by the magic of the story. The fairy godmother, the beautiful dress, the glass slipper, and the happy ending all seemed wonderful to me.
But as I grew older, I realized that what I liked most was not the prince or the palace.
It was Cinderella's kindness.
Despite everything she went through, she never lost her ability to be a good person.
As a child, I truly believed that life worked that way too—that if you were kind and patient, everything would eventually turn out well.
Time taught me that reality is much more complicated.
Good people also face disappointments, injustice, and difficult moments.
Even so, I have never stopped believing that kindness is worthwhile.
Perhaps not because it guarantees a fairy-tale ending, but because it helps us become better human beings.
2️⃣ What did I believe as a child that I later discovered wasn't true?
When I was a little girl, I thought adults had the answer to everything.
I believed that once you grew up, fear disappeared, problems became easier to solve, and life somehow became simpler.
Growing older showed me something completely different.
Adults also have doubts.
They worry.
They make mistakes.
Sometimes they don't know what decision is best either.
The difference is that they keep moving forward even without having all the answers.
That realization changed the way I looked at the people around me.
It also made me admire my family even more, because I understood that many times they were doing their best while carrying worries I could not see as a child.
Today I know that growing up does not mean living without fear.
It means learning to keep walking even when fear is still there.
Looking back at childhood reminds me that some beliefs disappear with time, but the lessons they leave behind stay with us forever.
Thank you for reading.

Hola querida comunidad @ladiesofhive

Cinderella has been a favorite fairy tale among lot of young girls, that magic everyone wants to believe in and the prince charming we all wait for :-)
Thank you so much. I think that magic is one of the reasons why Cinderella has been loved for so many generations. As a little girl, I also loved that magical world. As I grew older, I realized that what inspires me most about the story is not the prince, but Cinderella's kindness, strength, and hope. Those are the parts of the story that still have meaning for me today. 🤗

It is certainly worth being a kind person; I agree with you that our parents carried burdens we couldn't see during childhood. As you say, these are lessons that endure over time. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

This was both nostalgic and inspiring. Life doesn't always reward good people the way fairy tales do,l but choosing kindness is still one of the best decisions we can make. Thanks for sharing your pure thoughts.
