Liverpool On A Mission
The English Premier League is about to see new champions this weekend as the league slowly comes to an end. It has been a great season so far looking back at how it all began in August last year. Liverpool's at the top of the table this season was not what I was expecting under Arne Slot's first season at the club and coaching in the Premier League. A manager can come into the league and win the title in their first season as we saw what Antonio Conte did when he was at Chelsea so many years back.
Slot is getting closer to winning the title, which is a big deal as they are ending Manchester City's four-year run of winning the league title back to back for the past four years. I will say this honestly: Manchester City is having a bad season, plus losing Rodri, who is a centrepiece to the squad, in the early part of the season when Manchester faced Arsenal. Manchester City, from the moment Rodri got injured, had a bad run in all competitions this season and is only in the race for the FA Cup, so they likely may not go trophyless this season.
Liverpool are just a day away from winning the Premier League title if they grab a win against Leicester City this weekend away from home. It is going to be an interesting weekend for Liverpool fans and I just hope the Reds can get the win this weekend. Trent Alexander-Arnold may be available for the match, and although I don't find this news that interesting since the Englishman has decided to leave the club this summer window, he would still be a good help to the team in achieving their goal of winning the league this weekend.
This title win is the only thing positive Liverpool is taking outside of this season because they have not been that good in other competitions this season. They performed well in the Champions League until the round of sixteen when PSG knocked them out of the competition and then went on to lose the EFL Cup to Newcastle United some weeks ago which was heartbreaking to watch, but anyway, this weekend has to the weekend Arne Slot and the team finish the job for the season.
Leicester City have nothing to fight for as they will be relegated when the season comes to an end, but still, they shouldn't be taken lightly as most times, teams facing relegation always like to put up a fight against the teams at the top of the table. Leicester going back to the Championship is quite sad as this team were once EPL champions, but the blunt truth is if the team is not good, then the team is likely going to get relegated on finishing below the top 10 on the league table. I am looking forward to Sunday and hope everything turns out good for Liverpool. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
