Night Drive Homeward

After my Tagaytay trip, I came to meet a friend whom I haven't seen in a long time. He was a classmate in college who has had an interesting life. He currently runs a pet crematorium and cemetery and other businesses.

As with all my trips, coffee comes first before, during, and after everything!

I also stopped by a pasalubong center to buy toasted siopao and crab fat paste (known as aligui). Got some choco crinkles too.

After the meeting was the anticipated night drive homeward. I always use the excuse of heavy traffic to justify staying at expressways' gas stations.

At the station I stayed, there are the usual street cats. I caught one sleeping, while the second one promptly ran to me when I called. This cat has obviously been fed by humans and is mostly dependent on people for its food. Seems like no one has treated it harshly since it has no fear of me; it was even enthusiastically running towards me upon my first "swswswsws." 😅

I just love staying at places that are empty of people and serene. These dark corridors are attractive to me and are conducive for a peaceful rest. I'm not sure what the situation is for female drivers, but for me, I feel completely safe in these places, even if there are no security guards in sight.

Caught one lady janitor going around and apparently sweeping.

During these nights and trips, I am always accompanied by large trucks. I love seeing them on the road. They also rest a lot in gas stations.

This is the view on the way home. No more traffic, and it is nice to travel with the night lights.

These feelings of peace and serenity makes me glad to be alive.

Meeting a friend after such a long time always brings up interesting memories and conversations, especially if they have a unique life story like your college classmate.
In addition, it seems that you really enjoy your travels and the ritual of coffee, which undoubtedly gives a special touch to every moment.
It's wonderful that you find peace and quiet in less crowded places, those spaces can be really comforting.
Your perspective on serenity in these places is inspiring and it's great that you take every opportunity to enjoy the present.
