From Confusion to Courage: My Journey into Web3 and Hive
I'm Nishan Ahamed (@nishanahamed).
I've written before in the SciFi Multiverse community, and received so much love and support from amazing readers and writers here. That’s why I’ve returned—bringing new feelings, new lessons, and fresh experiences.
This week’s prompt is SMP-W21, and the theme is "Web3".

As soon as I heard the theme, memories came rushing back—of fear, curiosity, and slowly growing belief.
I was never the “tech-smart” guy
To be honest, I was never a very smart guy. Words like technology, crypto, NFTs—all felt alien to me.
I'm currently studying in university. Like many others, I used to spend hours on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram.
But after a while, I started asking myself:
I’m spending all this time online, but what am I really learning or gaining from it?
That question was the beginning of my journey into the world of Web3.
I didn’t understand anything at first
Blockchain? Crypto? Web3?
It was all gibberish to me.
Still, I had the curiosity. I wanted to learn. And I was willing to improve—little by little.
One day, I asked my older cousin, “Do you really earn from online work?”
He said yes—through a platform called Hive, where you can earn by writing.
I laughed.
"People actually believe that?"
But deep down, a spark had lit up.
"Why not see for myself? What do I have to lose by trying once?"
My First Step of Courage
I created a Hive account. Around me I saw beautiful writing, photography, creativity everywhere.

And me? I thought I had no skills.
Still, I gathered some courage one day—and posted something.
A very simple post, just about myself and the things I love.
Someone upvoted it.
I couldn’t believe it.
Me? Someone voted on my writing?
Later, I checked my wallet and saw some HIVE and HBD. It wasn’t a huge amount—but my eyes filled with tears.
For the first time, I felt like—maybe I could become something.
And then a new world opened up
Through Hive, I started understanding Web3.
It wasn’t just about technology. It was about freedom, creativity, and a path to self-reliance.
There’s no “boss” here.
No one can delete your writing.
No one tells you you’re not enough.
I’m still learning—NFTs, crypto games, blockchain—I still don’t know everything.
But every day, I learn a little more.
Now I don’t just write—I feel connected to myself.
I used to believe it was all fake…
I thought this was only for people who started long ago.
I thought I wouldn’t make it.
I thought it was a scam.

But now I know…
Web3 is a place where you can build yourself up.
Where your writing, your time, your effort—they all have value.
To all beginners…
Don’t be afraid. If someone like me can do it—you definitely can.
Just start. Learn. Take your time.
And remember: learn slowly, but consistently. Success comes when you’re patient with your growth.
I’m still learning.
But if someone asks me today—
"Where did it all begin for you?"
I’ll proudly say:
“It began with Hive. With a little post. A small piece of writing.”
And that writing…
Taught me that even an ordinary person like me can do something meaningful.
If you'd like, I can also format this in Hive-ready Markdown with titles, bold text, and image suggestions. Just let me know!
Hope you liked it.

This platform is good. Anyone can absolutely pick up a good journey here and understand a lot about crypto and web3 at large.
The time I joined here, I didn't get anything on my first post and that discouraged me a lot to stop but I pushed further after taking one week break. But it's good now, we've grown and still learning
At first, you may get nothing—but if you keep going, growth will come.
It is not always easy at first because you are still struggling to find your way around the blockchain chain I wish you the best in your journey.
Thanks.
You are welcome
Smile, from the title, I already know what your post is talking about.....
Honestly, at the beginning it is not always easy but with time we get to understand what it is...
