My Simple Work Hack That Helps Me Everytime
To be honest, I never really saw myself as someone who has a "hack" or trick to survive the workday. But when I saw this topic, I paused and think about it. Then I realised, I actually do have a little something that always help me get through even the most stressful days and it's not really something technical like an app or tool. It’s just my simple routine of starting the day slowly and intentionally
You see, I used to just wake up and rush into work. No time to breathe, just straight into the day. I’ll be replying messages, checking emails, running around, and trying to fix things before even brushing my teeth sometimes. That thing was draining me mentally. I always felt like the day is chasing me and not the other way round
Then one day, I saw something online that said, “If you want to control your day, start it with peace.” That line changed something in me. Since then, I started waking up a little earlier, even if it’s just 20 minutes. I sit quietly, stretch my body a little, drink water, and just plan in my head what I want to do that day. I don’t touch my phone for at least 30 minutes after I wake up (well, most days sha 😅). I just stay with myself and breathe
After that, I take a quick bath and write down three main things I want to achieve that day. Not ten, just three. Even if I end up doing more, those three are my focus. And I don’t pressure myself if I don’t finish all. It makes me feel more in control of my time
Another small thing I do that helps me is taking short breaks. I used to feel like if I stop working, I’m being lazy. But now I know it’s not true. When I feel tired or I can’t focus, I stand up, move around, or just play music and breathe. Even 5 minutes helps me come back stronger
I’m not the most organised person in the world, but this little morning habit and taking breaks really helps me a lot. It’s not perfect, and sometimes I still rush or forget, but when I follow this routine, my day always goes better. I feel calmer, more productive, and I don’t get angry easily
So that’s my small work hack. Nothing fancy, just a mindset shift and a bit of peace in the morning. If you're always feeling overwhelmed or the day feels too fast, maybe just try slowing down a bit first thing in the morning. It might just work for you too😊
