I was kind of surprised to find out that critics didn't like this film. I thought the introduction of Sandman was excellent and to this day he remains one of the villains that sticks out most in my mind, probably because his character arc is so tragic... he was an unwilling baddie who was only doing what he thought was best.

Yes... Now they surely regret having spoken so badly of this gem of a film. And yes, I also really liked this Sandman because of his development as an antagonist, because he seems to be a villain for most of the movie until the end, but oh well. That's also why he's the only villain Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man has ever faced who survived, if you think about it. 🥴
