On New Year's Eve, the children eagerly anticipate one thing: the special occasion of setting off firecrackers. Dante, a mischievous ten-year-old, together with his younger brother Loki, decided to head to the convenience store to buy rockets for the big last night.
As they entered the firework store, the air smelled sweet and of gunpowder. The shelves were filled with colorful fireworks. The seller, an elderly man with gray hair, watched them from behind the counter.
"Are you looking for something special?" the seller asked, pointing to a dusty box in the far corner.
Intrigued, Dante and Loki approached. Inside the box was an unusual firecracker adorned with strange symbols on its wrapping.
"This is a new product" said the seller.
"I don’t know what it will do when you light its fuse, so I’ll give it to you for New Year’s."
Loki's eyes sparkled like stars as he received the mysterious firecracker, while Dante smiled happily for not having to spend a dime.
That very night, the boys set off firecrackers until it was 12 AM. With the arrival of the New Year, excitement filled the air. The brothers gathered in their backyard. With trembling hands, they lit the fuse of the special firecracker with a match and ran away, covering their ears tightly.
But to their surprise, there was no explosion. Instead, a thick cloud of pink smoke began to pour from the tip of the firecracker and rose into the air.
Confused and dazed, the children watched as the smoke ascended, spreading through the air and making them cough. They ran away, fleeing from the pink smoke bomb that continued to emit its haze.
