The tone sounded strange, distorted to the core, like a broken police radio. When my friend Jack answered, I realized instantly I wasn't talking to him... It was someone else with a deep voice pretending to be Jack. Listening to that guy scared me to death, so I hung up.

It happens to us sometimes. I usually don't answer unknown numbers, but another voice calling from your friend's number makes me think it might have been an accident or that his phone was stolen. So many things you did right to hang up. Good luck in the contest!
