Honestly, I don't think this is one of Nicolas Cage's best works (obviously there are many better ones), but I still suppose it shouldn't be forgotten. Because it's one of those cases that, no matter how bizarre and unfortunate they may be, they teach you some very good life lessons, especially about how to view today's society. The issue of bullying is something that should not be dismissed, as well as the issue of intra-family, parental and couple responsibilities. You can also see examples of how self-centeredness, jealousy, and hatred can play tricks on you in life and cause you to go through many embarrassments like those experienced by the protagonist of this film.
