The power of communication

Navigating life's twists with a smile

Oh, what a week it's been! You know those times when the world feels like it's upside down, and you're left juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle? Yep, that about sums it up. I don't even know now how to start telling about this week.

Opening communications with school again

Our daughter, the brave soul, has been home since October nursing a back injury. Imagine being 17 and having your world shrink to the confines of your room. Not exactly the teenage dream, right? But she's handling it with more grace than I ever could.

Now, schools are bustling hives of activity. Teachers juggling lesson plans, grading, and the occasional coffee spill. So, it's understandable that a student out of sight might slip off the radar. But when that student is your child, and she's fretting over an exam that could make or break her year, Mama Bear instincts kick in.

Our daughter, channeling her inner Wonder Woman, shot off an email to her school expressing her concerns. At 17! I don't know about you, but at that age, I was more concerned about my hair than my future. Her initiative reignited the conversation, and the school's response was swift and supportive. A little nudge was all it took to bridge the gap.

Being honest and open, even over pain

On top of academic anxieties, she's been grappling with the loss of someone dear. Grief is a heavy burden, and when paired with physical pain, it can feel insurmountable. Sharing this with her supervising teacher wasn't easy, but it was necessary. The empathy and understanding that followed were like a warm hug on a cold day.

These experiences have been a masterclass in the importance of keeping those lines of communication open. Whether it's a quick chat, a heartfelt email, or even a meme shared over text, staying connected can make all the difference.

Here's to us, finding joy in the little victories, and always, always keeping the conversation going. After all, life's a wild ride and it's better when we scream together! And with this great community, it's not hard to open up and share those victories.

The dialogue is vital in any environment, much more in school. As you say, communication leaves that flavor of victory that makes us climb a step more in our development and the development of who surrounds us.In students it manifests itself in favor of the understanding and apprehension of the world and in international relations.I appreciate this post, precise and illustrative, smile encouraging

I know what you mean and you’re quite right. But planning exams in total silence it’s a bit hard to do 😂

Indeed, it's the basis of any and all human interactions and connections, and it doesn't always have to be verbal, as kind acts and loving touch can often be far more useful. That's true, it can be a bit challenging to open the lines of communication, but doing so is essential. Haha...I love it! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
