So this is goodbye

Spring is finally here, or at least, it seemed like it this morning. I started the day outside, soaking up the first warmth of the season, eating in the fresh air. But just as quickly as I settled in, a chilly wind sent me back inside. It’s that in-between season, where winter isn’t quite ready to let go, and spring is still finding its way.

I wasn’t planning on writing much today. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on much at all. But sometimes, life, or intuition, pulls you in a direction you don’t expect. I found myself driving past a friend’s place, feeling the urge to check in, but I kept going. And somehow, I ended up at the hospice.

That’s where I found out my best friend had passed away just a few hours earlier. Another friend was ny her side.

If you’ve been reading along, you might remember me talking about her. She was one of those people who just got me, a constant presence in the background of my life, even when we weren’t in touch every day. There’s something surreal about knowing she’s gone now, even though I knew this day was coming. It doesn’t make it feel any less sudden.

Days never go as planned. We wake up expecting one thing and end up somewhere completely different. Sometimes, that’s beautiful. Other times, it’s heartbreaking. And sometimes, like today, it’s both.

I don’t have more words right now. Just this: Hold the people you love close, and if your intuition tells you to reach out, don’t ignore it. You never know when it might be the last time.

This must have been a really painful experience to endure. I hope your friend Rests In Peace.

Spring is teasing you, and hope it comes soon and stays long enough to keep you warm. I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. It is not easy to lose someone we care about, even when we know it is coming...

Oh, I'm so sorry.
My condolences and may your friend rest in peace.
I can imagine the intensity and depth of your thoughts at this time. It happens to me a lot when people die around me. One questions a lot about life..... You are right, we can't stop embracing those who are spring in our lives. Intuition is the best compass of every human being. Many do not listen to it.
