This is my post for #freewriters 3018 prompt guess what! hosted by @mariannewest

Guess what? After not fishing for close to a month because of the weather, my husband went today. Guess what again, nothing has changed. He first went to the Big Flatt, there was nothing there. He covered Black Point and the inlet, but still nothing. Off he went to Long Point, and guess what, I bet you can guess what he caught, that is right, nothing.

Things were worse than not catching anything, his motor started overheating and running on 2 cylinders. It is a four stroke which means it has four carburators, he put a new filter on while the weather was bad and cleaned the carbs. The motor is old, and it has been a while since he has changed the water pump.

He has had trouble with the carbs for a couple of years now, and it freezes up where he can barely turn it with the tiller handle. If it sits like it did this time, he has to heat it with a torch to get it to free up.

A couple of years ago, a neighbor gave him a boat with a motor just like his. He said tomorrow we will change motors. We are not as young or as strong as we used to be, so this will be a challenge.

I have another guess what, this is one time I do not like being right. Last week, my husband said he thought our cold weather was over. We have been in the 80sF. We are to have record highs this weekend. I said I did not think it was over. Monday we will have over a 40 degree drop in temperature. It will be a bigger drop where we live, I expect the upper 30s.

Here is my last guess what has to go back in the sheds? This time, I am only putting the desert roses, orchids, and pineapple that have fruit. I will pray that it does not drop below freezing.

Sorry about the lousy fishing and the ailing boat motor. I hope it doesn't get as cold in Florida as it did recently!

Thanks, but now they are calling it another bomb cyclone, they say low 40s, when they say that, it will be somewhere in the 30s.
