5 minute freewrite 2995 prompt producer of nothing in particular

This is my post for #freewriters 2995 prompt producer of nothing in particular hosted by @mariannewest
I spent the day getting my plants back inside. They say we will have a wind chill of 29 in the morning, but they also say our low will be 43. This does not make any sense to me, but I do know 43 is too cold for my orchids and desert roses. This cold snap is more than a snap. It will stay cold for two weeks, with it never getting over 50. They also say next Monday and Tuesday will have a low of 31. So my plants will need to stay inside the entire time.
I was worried about leaving them inside for a week with the last cold weather, so this time I hung lights inside to give them light in the daytime. I knew this weather was coming, so the day before yesterday I watered everything well. I also have a heater running inside. That is all I can do for them.
I feel for everyone to our north, our weather does not compare to what they are facing. My prayers are with you.

For the next two weeks, my plan is to stay inside and be a producer of nothing in particular. The only reason I will have to go outside is to collect food for Rudy. His food is getting hard to find, the ice we had with the last cold front killed a lot of the grass he eats. My husband took the dog for a walk on the preserve today and found a patch of Rudy grass and told me where it was. I walked to it today and cut some for him. I hope it does not die.

You sure have given Rudy a great life. I hope he appreciates it in his rabbit-y way.
I know I give him the best care I can, BUT I feel so guilty that he is not running free. Then I think he knows nothing about surviving outside. It is a damn if I do and damn if I don't thing with me.
