5 minute freewrite 2990 prompt it's not critical

This is my post for #freewriters 2990 prompt it's not critical hosted by @mariannewest

My desert roses and orchids cannot take the cold weather, so they have been inside the shed for a week. Now it is warm enough for them to go back outside. I am afraid we will have more weather that is too cold for them, so I did not put them back where I had them. I put weedmat close to the shed so I would not have as far to carry them and put them on it.
My sister came by today, and I asked her when she would be ready to go back fishing. She told me she had a few things she wanted to do before we go back. It's not critical for me to fish, but they caught pompano today, and it seems like each time they bite, she does not want to go.
I thought since she does not want to fish, I could take my truck and put the boat in the water up the creek and catch small jacks. So much for that plan! My husband went to get his ice so he could fish tomorrow. On his way home, his truck started making a knocking noise. He made it home and backed it in beside his boat to unload the ice. Now the truck will not start. He asked if I was using my truck tomorrow, and since he will make more money catching pompano than I will catching jacks, I told him I was not going anywhere.
It sucks because I had two years of not going, and now I have had a small taste of the old feeling of how much I loved it, just to have it taken away again. Yes, I cried. I think I will put the rods away, and when my sister says she is ready to go back, I will tell her we are done fishing. I get upset because back when the water was warm, and they bit, she did not want to go, or she wanted to leave the house after 9 in the morning.
My husband told me that she does not want to fish with me because I yelled at her. I told him yes, I yelled, and he would too if a fish got slung at him and the other hook gets stuck in your pants leg. When she first started fishing with me, I was on her for not keeping her line tight when she unhooked a fish. If you do not keep the line tight between the fish and the rod tip, the second hook is flopping around your face while you unhook the fish. I was not yelling at her for this, but telling her each time to tighten the line. I did yell when she broke one of my best rods because of her stupidity.

I am just DONE, I will stay home and pull weeds.

These are lovely Desert Roses! I especially like the ones with the chubby bonsai root.
Sorry to hear your fishing plans fell through... My husband and I sometimes fish on a local pier, so far we hadn't caught anything to boast about... but we do enjoy the activity. Maybe it will take a good catch for us to get really into it :)
Yes, I also like the bonsai-looking desert roses the best.
Fish like to hang around any structure. Try dropping your bait near a piling instead of casting far from the pier. Good luck.

You are so welcome. I hope it helps.
