When my last laptop started acting up, I was a little depressed. When it quit, I was depressed. Now this one is starting to do weird things. It was giving me two clicking arrows, I am not sure what it is called. One the mouse could move, but it did nothing, the other stayed in place and did nothing. I would need to bring up task manager and click end task, whatever the task was, it would fix it.
Now, for the last week, the screen turns blue, and it says an error has occurred and windows needs to restart, or something to that effect. I typed whatever it said into google, and the first words I read were "the blue screen of death". Those words alone almost sent me into the next depression. Why do they have to call it that?
I have had a goal of making a post every day for a year, I think I am close to the year. It will suck if my laptop crashes a few days short of it.
I googled things I could try when getting the blue screen, but I do not know if any of them worked. I did a full computer scan and a scan that was done offline. After running them, it is hard to tell if it is working right because it did not mess up all of the time.
If I disappear from Hive, know the blue screen of death is real.

Check and see how much you have stored on your computer... it can be memory problems, or hard drive issues.
This is a good thing to check. Open File Explorer. When it opens, in the left column, click "This PC." It should show a status bar under your OS (C:) drive with how much is used and how much space remains.

I think the scans fixed it, so far so good.
The modern Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is nothing like the BSOD of yesteryear. Usually now it means it can fix itself. Possible causes are numerous. If the laptop has been dropped, it is possible the RAM or other connectors are slightly loose. I'd suggest taking it to a proper shop instead of trying to take it apart yourself. On the software side, there are some tools buried deep in the menus to verify the install of Windows and fix any corrupted files. Again, I suggest finding a reputable repair shop unless you have a tech-savvy grandkid handy.

I think it fixed itself when I did the scans. It seems to be working now.

Sometimes some of these electronics misbehave. It is either they need servicing or repairs for some technical faults. But I do hope the things you've done on this one will clear the "blue screen of death", !LOLZ
