My sister made it to my house around 7:30 this morning. She has to wait until her youngest granddaughter gets on the school bus. The oldest one gets herself to the bus stop, they leave at seperate times. We got the boat hooked up and drove to the boat ramp. She is getting a lot better at backing down the ramp since she is opening the truck tailgate where she can see better.

After she parked the truck and got in the boat, the motor would not start, it did the same thing as it did the other day. All I did was give it a sweep with my eyes and hands to make sure everything was as it should be, and it started. By now it is almost 8:30. I texted my husband and told him I got it started and he told me that when I get there to go east of him and anchor, he had already caught 14 head of pompano.

When you see a pompano that is on your line keep trying to jump out of the water, it means you have a double. I kept telling her to reel and she kept saying, "its a ladyfish" and I kept saying "no, it is two pompano". She was stunned, then it turned to pure joy. I was so happy she got both of them in the boat.

We could only fish until 1:30 so she can meet the school bus. We had 17 pompano that weighed 36 pounds. My husband had 34 pompano that weighed 63 pounds. We did good for the time we fished.
