This is my post for #freewriters 2814 prompt no more abuse hosted by @mariannewest

My husband came home from his camping trip a day early. He called last night and said his back and hip were bothering him, and he could take no more abuse. He said he never took the kayak from the roof of his truck. The air conditioner had its problems, too. He bought a heavy duty extension cord for it, and he said it melted the end of the cord.

As luck would have it, he said it rained last night, so when he got home, he had to spread the tent and tarp he put under it out on the ground to dry. You can tell by our grass that it has not rained here in weeks.

He said things could have gone very bad this morning, but luckily, it turned out all right. He said he finished eating the Brunswager liver he had with him, and since he had been battling the ants, and now he was leaving, he threw the wrapper on the ground under the edge of the picnic table. He said he would pick it up after the ants got their fill. That did not happen.

He was at one end of the picnic table, and a deer walked up to the other end. He thought, how cool that was to be that close to a wild deer. Then he walked over to it and touched its nose.

The deer stuck its head under the table and grabbed the liver wrapper, and started a chewing motion with its mouth. My husband screamed NO, and the deer jumped, but did not go far. He could see the wrapper was wrapped around the deer's bottom jaw.

He knew the deer might die if it swallowed plastic, so he lunged for it, and the deer reared its head high, then low, and the plastic wrapper fell off.

The deer went away, and he went back to packing, but it did not take long, and the deer was back, sticking its head under the picnic table. But the wrapper was not there, my husband told the ants that if they wanted the wrapper, they would need to find it in the trash can.

The wildest thing about this story is, deer eat plants, not meat.

Are you sure he saw a deer, or was it a not deer?

I have never heard of a not deer, but I am sure he knows what one looks like. The not deer is strange looking with its eyes in the front.

It must have been a wonderful experience for your hubby being close to a wild animal like that.

Some of our campgrounds are like reverse zoos, you are in your confined area and the wildlife walk by looking at you.
