5 minute freewrite 2711 prompt glue him to the table
This is my post for #freewriters 2711 prompt glue him to the table hosted by @mariannewest
Today has been a happy and sad day. First, the happy. Our Church was having an Easter party for everyone. I went with my sister and three of her grandchildren.
When my sister saw they had a water slide, she went home to have them put on their bathing suits before going. But when we got there, none of them bothered to take their clothes off, they had their suits on under them, and I saw some others that had suits on under their clothes. I guess if most were going to wear their clothes, they all did. kids!!
They played on the waterslide until it was time for the egg hunt. I liked that they had 3 age groups, so the bigger kids were not getting the eggs before the little ones could find them.
Everyone was calmly standing in line, and the announcer was explaining the rules. I do not know what the middle aged group heard, but all at once, they all took off, and the announcer was screaming over a bullhorn, no, no, no, but it was too late, all the others took off. I could see the announcer throw her arms up like she surrendered. It was funny.
After the egg hunt they were each given a prize and if you found a special egg you got another prize. My sister's grandson found a special egg, and he chose a teddy bear for his prize. She wanted him to get a book.
Not only was everything they did free, but lunch was free, too. We each got a hot dog, chips, and a can of soda.
This one needed to use the restroom, and on our way back, she spotted this sign that said "silly rabbit, Easter is for Jesus," and she got so excited because her shirt said the same thing, so I took a picture so she could show her grandma.
I do not think Rudy would stand still long enough to get a picture with her, maybe I could glue him to the table, I am joking, I would never do that, it is just the prompt and that is all I have for it.
Now, the sad news, I sold The Beast. I did not get the price I wanted. I put it up for 5k and no one wanted it, so I dropped the price to 3k and sold it for 2k. The man said he bought his son a truck and drove it home, and the next day, the transmission went out. He is going to put the engine and tranny from The Beast into his son's truck. So it will live on, sorta. But now I am crying. I loved that truck.
