A Powerful Ally for the Reverse Speed Rule

Today I'm going to talk about the Frost Giant, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge in Splinterlands.
The Frost Giant is a card you'll rarely see in battles nowadays because it's not commonly used by players, but in the past it was a brilliant choice for many players.

This is a legendary card from the Water deck, and its main advantage is being a powerful ally in the Reverse Speed rule.

Reverse Speed: During the Reverse Speed Modifier, Units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance to evade attacks.
In the image I showed of the Frost Giant card, you can see that it only has 1 attack speed, so it's the perfect card to use in the Reverse Speed rule, but it has the Slow ability which isn't useful in this rule.
Let's learn about the Frost Giant abilities: Shield, Trample, Slow, and Stun.

Shield: 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.
This ability is very useful for receiving less damage against melee and ranged attacks.

Trample: After using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position.
This is a great ability to deal even more damage in battle.

Slow: -1 speed to all enemy units.
This is a great ability but doesn't combine well with the Reverse Speed rule.

Stun: 50% chance to apply Stunned for one round after a successful attack. Stunned units skip their turn and cannot retaliate.
Reducing the actions of enemy monsters helps a lot in battle.
The Frost Giant may have been amazing in the past, but it's still a great choice today.
Now let's take a look at the Frost Giant in battle.

Watch The Battle
I couldn't get any cards with the Reverse Speed rule, so I'll use this battle as an example. In it, the Frost Giant's Shield ability was very useful for defending against melee and ranged attacks.
A strategy I like to use when I have the Frost Giant is to choose a summoner that grants armor, thus increasing the card's defenses and making it harder to defeat.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
