Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 , Episode 7, Movie review
How are you all? I was a bit busy all day today. I thought I would relax a bit at night. Then I played Episode 7 of Star Trek: Discovery. To be honest, I sat quietly for a while after the episode ended. Because this episode not only moved the story forward, but also showed many characters differently.

There was a strangely tense atmosphere from the beginning. The Discovery ship looked much more tired than before. It seemed like everyone was dying from the inside out while fighting. This thing felt quite real to me. Because people can't be strong all the time.

Seeing Michael Burnham in this episode, I felt like he was fighting with himself. He always looks strong on the outside, but inside, he is breaking down about a lot of things. In some scenes, you could tell just by looking into his eyes. Especially when he was hesitating about some decisions, it seemed like he didn't even know which one was right.

Captain Lorca is still a very mysterious person to me. When he talks, it seems like everything is under control. But then, suddenly, he does something that makes you suspicious. I'm still not completely sure about this character. And maybe that's what the director wanted.

Ash Tyler felt a little different in this episode. He seemed a bit broken compared to before. You could tell from his behaviour how much the memories of war change people. At times, it felt like he was trying to keep himself normal, but he couldn't.
I always like the character Tilly. Because when everything gets heavy throughout the series, he brings a little lightness. His style of speaking, getting nervous, and suddenly showing courage — these things feel very natural. He brought a few small moments of laughter in this episode too.

I have a little concern about Stamets. It's like the man is slowly losing control of himself. There was a tiredness in his eyes. It felt like he was going far away, where no one else could reach. It was a little uncomfortable to watch his scenes.
And Saru... the more I watch this character, the more I like it. He is always afraid, but still he fulfils his duty. Many people are like that in real life, too. They act even when they are afraid. That's why the character seems so real to me.
There was one thing I noticed a lot about this episode. There weren't many big fight scenes, but there was still tension. Because there was a strange uneasiness even in the dialogue. Who is hiding what, who is telling the truth, who is not telling — time flies by thinking about all these things.
I have to say something about the visuals separately. The space scenes were very beautiful. Some shots looked really calm, while in some scenes, there was a strange fear. The atmosphere inside the Discovery ship also seemed different to me. The light, the sound, everything combined to create a cold feeling.
The ending made me think the most. It felt like something very big was going to happen. After this episode ended, I immediately wanted to watch the next episode. Because the story has now reached a point where no one can be completely trusted.

Overall, Episode 7 was a bit slow for me, but it felt very deep. It showed more of the inner feelings of people than the action. And I personally like these kinds of stories more. Because they often remind me of real life.
Actually, I realised one thing… no matter how big the universe is, the inner turmoil of people may be even bigger.
