ENTERTAINMENT AND CONSERVATION OF WILD ANIMALS: CAN A ZOO BE ETHICAL
My first experience exploring the zoo was during my time in Basic 6, back in Primary school. Then I tend to ask myself questions like, "How were they able to preserve and conserve this animal for so long". I have never had any experience with wild animals before because I grew up in the city of Nigeria, not even snakes. My first time of even seeing a snake was in the zoo.

Animals in captivity can be classified in both positive and negative aspects, but menageries see it as a positive outcome because these animals in the zoo are well fed and might even live longer than being in the wild because out there in the Bush, they hunt each other.
Having a zoo is great, because we live in a world full of all kinds of explorations and beautiful things and not everyone has the bold mind to go out and witness how wildlife really exists,. After all, there might be fewer chances of survival. The zoo is one of the best adventure places we can take our families, especially kids, to experience the beauty of animals around them. I remember I was very happy back then when I witnessed my first experience with a zoo, when I got home I told my mom and dad about the lovely experience I had then, this is one of the joys a zoo gives for children too.
Personally, I see the zoo as proof of historical documentation. Most countries tend to have their special type of animals bred, and even snakes. Going to a country zoo will make you understand different countries' species and see how great they are.
Sometimes what is being caged might be for a better good, and naturally wild animals are caged in an enclosure, but an open place where the sun can shine on them and they also have water to survive. As humans, we really need to educate our children about historical facts and experiences.

Personally, I believe owning a zoo is ethical as long as it is licensed by a governing body, because I know animals can't talk, and our kids need to understand what the outside world looks like, rather than just watching on a mere screen and video; they need to see how they truly look like. Zookeepers are to follow a strict protocol of preserving the animals so that they can live perfectly and without any problems.
I believe wild animals may have short life span because they are open to sickness disease and several things, while the ones inside zoo are being taken care of fed and treated well I feel if only there was a way of communicating with this animal to see the value of where they are in the zoo than in wildlife.
Zoo can be ethical and a good practice as long as it follows the rules of taking care of the wild animals perfectly, even in cases of climate change, but these animals are prone to problems like boredom and frustration and also repetitive behaviours.

Hehe. It’s the not seeing snake in Nigeria for me 😂. Just say you grew up in the city and not the village. Snake wey full everywhere 😂
Zookeeping actually a nice thing as it comes with a lot of advantages from the adventure itself.
Honestly, I am not 10% sure that wild animals kept in enclosures like in zoos, even if they have management rights, are treated like kings; however, wild animals are not free like in their own habitats.
What i meant is that animals in the zoo are well taken care of and fed but have less freedom while animal in wildlife are survivals that hardly live long because they prey on eachother
I don't just anyone can own a zoo because after building all this park, how will the person get the animals and some animals have been ban from hunting. That way, they can preserve wildlife.
Yea, i get it boss. Thanks for commenting
You are welcome
Keeping these animals enclosed has its own merit and demerit. Weighing the both, it seems the advantages are much.
I agree withj the advantage are really much
