Cleaning Activity for 30-11-2024//Cleaning done today during Sanitation day

As for the special days, last Saturday of every month, the 30th to be precise as been recognized as the Sanitation Day in our community. It’s a day, in which all people residing in this country should come together and try to make our environment better. However, looking around my section of the street I found out that my neighborhood was rather still. Although many of the community members engaged in the last Sanitation Day, today’s event was poor in attendance. As much as I could have been disappointed that the support of my street members seemed to have reduced I saw it as a challenge to take charge of things.

This evening, after sometime I took a trash bag and started picking the trash on the side of the street where I leave. Surprisingly, I was able to identify that there was not much litter on the roadsides than before. But one of the causes of my neighborhood being clean was the bush burning that used to occur nearby.

When collecting chip packets, scraps and any form of waste around I was thanking my stars for the uninterrupted power supply in my region today. Blackouts are the norm, meaning that when electricity is on, tasks are far less complicated. I was able to use charging units in the afternoon while working on my phone and I achieved a number of tasks which include; Washing my Clothes and Cleaning the rooms in my house.

I also felt pride and accomplish after having done all these efforts to clean up the street. What gratification there was to be had came from thinking I had done at least something to bring some order by seeing to it that, at least my street, was clean. Small steps make up big changes and are sometimes all it takes to create change that matters in our community. How was the your own cleaning done today 😉?
