I am currently in the process of concluding all sorts of new contracts and now it was the turn of the Internet contract.

I also realized today that the old router was apparently defective anyway, because when I tested it, I only got 8 MBit download on one port. Whereby I was shown 50 Mbit in the upload. And no, it wasn't just a measurement error, because I tried several times.

Unfortunately, it doesn't solve my problem that the LAN port in my room is apparently defective. :( Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, now it didn't want to work at all. That's why I always had my old PC connected to the network via LAN and WLAN.

But that's another topic, which I'll come back to in the next few days.

I had already canceled the old contract a few days ago and since I don't know how quickly the new one will be ready and the router will be there, I took the precaution of canceling it. We would still have enough data volume on the cell phone to bridge the gap, but it's certainly better this way.

I'm already thinking about what else I should do. I think I'll have to check with the electricity provider again to see what the situation is.

How do you handle it? Do you keep your contracts running, even if you end up paying more, and save yourself the effort, or do you do what I do and switch if possible to save money?

bin ja momentan dabei alles Mögliche neu abzuschließen und nun war der Internetvertrag dran.

Habe heute auch festgestellt, dass scheinbar der alte Router eh einen Defekt hatte, denn an einem Port kam nur 8 MBit im Download raus, als ich es getestet habe. Wobei im Upload mir 50 Mbit angezeigt wurden. Und nein, das war nicht nur ein Messfehler, denn ich habe es mehrfach versucht.

Löst leider nicht mein Problem, dass der verlegte LAN-Port in meinem Zimmer scheinbar defekt ist. :( Der ging mal, mal nicht, jetzt wollte er gar nicht mehr. Daher hatte ich auch meinen alten PC immer per LAN und WLAN am Netz dran.

Das aber wieder ein anderes Thema, worauf ich die Tage nochmal eingehen werde.

Den alten Vertrag hatte ich bereits vor einigen Tagen gekündigt und da ich nicht weiß, wie schnell der neue bereitsteht und der Router da ist, habe ich das vorsichtshalber schon mal abgeschlossen. Wir hätten am Handy zur Not immer noch genug Datenvolumen um es zu überbrücken, aber so ist es sicherlich besser.

Bin schon am Überlegen, was ich noch machen sollte. Ich glaube, ich muss mal wieder beim Stromanbieter nachschauen, wie es da aussieht.

Wie handhabt ihr es? Lasst ihr Verträge weiter laufen, auch wenn ihr dann ggf. mehr zahlt und spart euch so den Aufwand oder macht ihr es wie ich und wechselt wenn möglich um zu sparen?
