Biblical counseling requires genuine involvement, not just correct advice. Compassion means choosing to care praying with counselees, grieving and rejoicing with them (Romans 12:15), treating them like family (1 Timothy 5:1-2), following Jesus and Paul's example of entering people's pain. Respect shows through body language (SOLVER: squared shoulders, open stance, lean forward, warm tone, eye contact) and taking their problems seriously, trusting them, and keeping confidences. Sincerity means honesty about my limits, sharing struggles appropriately, and being upfront about following God's Word with no hidden agendas. People need credibility more than perfect content they'll accept hard truth wrapped in genuine care. Let the Lord help us build trust and minister with compassion, respect, and honesty, not just fix problems mechanically.
